You will be the target for most of the game. Enjoy the spotlight! Without a Deputy, you have no allies.
* The first thing you want to do at the start is to build defenses. A barrel, a mustang, or even missed and bangs are useful.

* The second thing you want to do is to test loyalities. Banging the next player is often useful. This is because he will immediately has another turn to prove their loyality, by either shooting you or others. Besides, targeting the last player is worse since he might be killed before he even have a turn.
''Barrel'', ''Mustang'', and ''Beer'' are your best defenses.
* After some loyality testing, it is better to be sure before killing another player. You don't want to kill your deputy. Instead you may watch them fight against each other and decide afterwards. If you are not 100% certain you can still target others, but don't deal the last blow.

Don't waste resources attacking if you don't know who is who. The more cards you hold, the more options you have. Wait for someone to target you and collect defensive cards in the meantime.

Your main goal is to kill the Sheriff. Attack him/her when you can. Outlaws have the best chance of winning the game.

Outlaws work best as a team. The earlier you show other Outlaws what you are, the better your chances.

Targeting the Sheriff in the first round immediately identifies you. Wait one round to build up your hand. However, the longer you wait, the more time the Sheriff has to collect cards and gain defense.

==As the Deputy==
==As the Deputy==
* Never, ever shoot the sheriff! Mass damage is still ok, but a bang to the sheriff is your death sentence. You will probably be mistaken as outlaw and shot to death afterwards.
Watch for anybody who attacks the Sheriff. If you are playing with 6 or fewer players, all other players (besides the Sheriff) are your enemies.
* Try to weaken outlaws, but don't kill them unless the sheriff is far away. That way, the sheriff can pick up the bonus.
* Kill everyone except the sheriff. Most of the time, all other non-sheriff players are your enemies. Killing them will leave the sheriff in a better position, even that costs your death.

==As the Outlaw==
Never ever harm or target the Sheriff! Mass damage cards (''Gatling'', ''Indians'') are acceptable.
* Don't target the sheriff immediately. The sheriff will immediately send you to the graveyard before you can utter a word.

* Instead, pretend as a deputy to increase the chances of sheriff killing the deputy.
Weaken Outlaws for the Sheriff to finish (if he/she has enough range). That way, the Sheriff can collect the bonus for the kill. Otherwise, end them yourself.
* Meanwhile, try to find your allies and kill those pesky deputies and renegades.
* Afterwards when the sheriff gets weak (1 to 2 life points), you can start targeting the sheriff and win the game.

==As the Renegade==
==As the Renegade==
* Oh my god, you are the renegade! This is the most difficult but interesting character to play, as everyone else may want you dead.
This is the hardest role in the game. Your main objective is to be the last player against the Sheriff. Play like a Deputy until at least one Outlaw is out of the game. Keep careful watch of who is targeting whom.
* Confusion is your ally. Try to shoot people who look like deputies. That way, both sides will not be sure who you are. Use all your lying and bluffing skills.

* Save some gatlings and indians, as well as build up a defense. You don't want to get too many holes.
Keep a balance between the Outlaws and the Sheriff/Deputies. Make it easy for them to kill each other by weakening them, but not killing them. When someone kills someone else with 1 life point remaining, that's the time to go in for the kill.
* If you are near to the sheriff, shoot in the other direction. Try to kill at least one outlaw or you will expose yourself.

* If you are far to the sheriff, shoot like an outlaw until you reach next to the sheriff. Then claim to be the deputy and shoot the other way.
Attack the team (Outlaws or lawmen) that has more players. Keep the game even.
* The only chance of you winning is that you weaken both sides at the same time. If the deputy is dead, aid the sheriff. If there is only one outlaw alive, side with him. The most possible situation for you to win is when there are you, the sheriff and an outlaw alive.

Don't play the entire game as a Deputy or it may end up with you outnumbered by lawmen. Confusion can be your ally.

The key is knowing who your allies are and who your enemies are. Pay attention to who is attacking who.

Use Stagecoach and Wells Fargo before doing anything else. Drawing a good card from Wells Fargo can change your strategy and give you more options.

Concentrate on attacking one player until they are dead. Attacking multiple targets gives them time to recover health points with Beer cards.

If one player is near death, it may be worth killing that player to gain three cards. But if it's an ally, or you don't know its role, consider if you're desperate enough situation.

Missed is the last card you should get rid of.

As the Sheriff

You will be the target for most of the game. Enjoy the spotlight! Without a Deputy, you have no allies.

Barrel, Mustang, and Beer are your best defenses.

Don't waste resources attacking if you don't know who is who. The more cards you hold, the more options you have. Wait for someone to target you and collect defensive cards in the meantime.

As the Outlaw

Your main goal is to kill the Sheriff. Attack him/her when you can. Outlaws have the best chance of winning the game.

Outlaws work best as a team. The earlier you show other Outlaws what you are, the better your chances.

Targeting the Sheriff in the first round immediately identifies you. Wait one round to build up your hand. However, the longer you wait, the more time the Sheriff has to collect cards and gain defense.

As the Deputy

Watch for anybody who attacks the Sheriff. If you are playing with 6 or fewer players, all other players (besides the Sheriff) are your enemies.

Never ever harm or target the Sheriff! Mass damage cards (Gatling, Indians) are acceptable.

Weaken Outlaws for the Sheriff to finish (if he/she has enough range). That way, the Sheriff can collect the bonus for the kill. Otherwise, end them yourself.

As the Renegade

This is the hardest role in the game. Your main objective is to be the last player against the Sheriff. Play like a Deputy until at least one Outlaw is out of the game. Keep careful watch of who is targeting whom.

Keep a balance between the Outlaws and the Sheriff/Deputies. Make it easy for them to kill each other by weakening them, but not killing them. When someone kills someone else with 1 life point remaining, that's the time to go in for the kill.

Attack the team (Outlaws or lawmen) that has more players. Keep the game even.

Don't play the entire game as a Deputy or it may end up with you outnumbered by lawmen. Confusion can be your ally.
