Objective

Two Shaman apprentices attempt to prove their skills by gathering nature spirits (İye). The first player to win 2 cycles is the overall winner.

Setup

  • Shuffle the 25 İye tiles face down and distribute them randomly face up onto the 25 spaces of the game board.
  • Place the Shaman's Drum on the center tile of the board.

Game Flow

Players take turns. A player moves the drum, and the tile the drum lands on is given to the OPPONENT. You may never keep the tile you landed on yourself.

Movement Options

A) Natural Movement

  • Move the drum 1 or 2 spaces horizontally or vertically.
  • Diagonal moves are not allowed for natural movement.
  • The drum can pass over empty spaces (they count as spaces), but must land on a tile.

B) İye Tile Movement (Using Abilities)

Instead of a natural movement, you may "spend" (discard) a previously gathered tile to perform a special move. The target tile is still given to the opponent.

  • Sun (9 in game): Move the drum to any of the 4 corner spaces of the board.
  • Horse (7 in game): Move in an "L" pattern (like a Knight in Chess: 2 spaces in one axis, 1 space in the other).
  • Tree (5 in game): Move exactly 1 space diagonally.
  • Water (3 in game): Move any number of spaces horizontally, vertically, or diagonally (like a Queen in Chess).
  • Owl (1 in game): Place the drum on any tile currently on the board.

End of a Cycle & Scoring

A cycle ends in two ways:

  1. No Legal Move: If a player cannot perform either a natural movement or a tile movement, the opponent (the player who made the last valid move) immediately wins the cycle.
  2. One Tile Left: If only one tile remains on the board, the cycle ends and scoring begins.

Scoring

Each type of İye is scored separately. Whoever holds the majority of tiles of a specific type receives points equal to the total count of that type in the game:

  • Owl: 1 point
  • Water: 3 points
  • Tree: 5 points
  • Horse: 7 points
  • Sun: 9 points
  • In case of a tie in a category, no points are awarded for that type.
  • Spent (discarded) tiles do not count toward scoring.

End of Game

The first player to win 2 cycles is appointed the clan's new Shaman.
