Overview
Throw pens and strategically shade in elements of the sheets with various levels of complexity from 1 to 4
Turn
The active player throws the pens
The pens retain their colour and show a set of symbols depending on how they land
Starting with the Thrower, each player picks a colour/shape combo rolled and claims it so it can't be chosen by anyone else
If someone can't use any of the colour/shape combos shown, they pass and do NOT take a pen away from the pool
Those who claimed a pen, now colour in a single place on their sheet which matches the same colour/shape combo e.g. a green triangle
If a player completes an area that homes a Ladybug, circle said Ladybug and declare to everyone else that you have captured one
The person with the Panda hands it to the player to their left, along with all the pens, and that player becomes the new start player
Panda Sheets
Each sheet has rules unique to itself
If a feature appears in later sheets, assume the rules on earlier sheets apply unless stated otherwise
2 Panda Rules
Each space can only be coloured if the pen colour/symbol combo matches it
Bamboo must be shaded from lowest to highest segment
When the Highest Bamboo segment is shaded, this is when the Ladybug can be claimed
Cloud segments can be shaded in any order
When a Cloud is completed, shade 2 Bamboo segments in Blue
The sun can be shaded in any order
3 Panda Rules
The Sun Rays can be shaded in any order, but as soon as one person completes their sun, no one else can make any further progress on their sun
The River must be shaded from leftmost segment to rightmost segment, once completed the player can shade each bamboo in the same grouping 1 segment of blue i.e. 1 square, 1 triangle, & 1 circle segment
Fish can only be shaded if the river section they are attached to has previously been shaded
The Pond can be shaded in any order
4 Pandas Light Rules
The River is shaded from highest to lowest, if there is a left or right path you must choose one and ignore the other, different segments will provide different instant bonuses pertaining to blue shading of Lanterns, Bamboos, or Ponds
Lantern segments can be shaded in any order, if you are the first to fully shade a lantern cross out the 2, if you are afterwards cross out the 4
Bamboo shoots can be shaded in any order
4 Pandas Dark Rules
Some Bamboo segments require blue rather than the colour of the main stem
Floating Lanterns can be shaded in any order
Party Favours must be shaded from highest in the sequence to lowest, but the different Favours can be shaded in any order, some segments will provide a bamboo segment bonus.
The Dragon must be shaded from Leftmost to Rightmost, blue segments must be blue, non-specified segments can be any colour BUT you CANNOT have the same colour next to itself e.g. green-yellow-green is ok, but green-green-yellow is not. Certain segments of the Dragon can by bypassed, but you CANNOT backtrack later to shade them in. When you pass a foot, cross out the lower number if you are first to this foot, or cross out the higher number if you are late to this foot. Some segments will provide a bamboo segment bonus.
The Firework is divided into the Trail and the Burst. The Trail can be shaded in any order, whilst the Burst has to be shaded clockwise from the 1 Burst.
Game End
The game ends in a turn when someone circles their Third Ladybug, multiple players may do this in the same turn
The remainder of the turn is concluded as normal
Scoring will depend on how many Pandas the sheet contains
2 Pandas
Each leaf attached to a shaded bamboo segment scores the points shown in it
A complete sun awards 5 points
Each captured Ladybug gives 1 bonus point
3 Pandas
Each leaf attached to a shaded bamboo segment scores the points shown in it
For fully shading all the bamboo in one grouping/colour, gain the points shown on the nearby sign
A fully shaded Pond grants 7 points
Each shaded Fish grants its depicted points
The Sun Rays are ranked depending on how many are shaded, with 6/4/2 points for 1st/2nd/3rd place
Each captured Ladybug gives 1 bonus point
4 Pandas Light
Each leaf attached to a shaded bamboo segment scores the points shown in it
Bamboo shoots shaded are multiplied by ponds shaded e.g. 3 Shoots and 1 Pond is 3 point, whilst 2 Shoots and 2 Ponds are 4 points
For fully shading all the bamboo in one grouping/colour, gain the points shown on the nearby sign
Each shaded River segment which holds points gives the points shown
Fully shaded Lanterns grant points for the number not crossed out, i.e. 4 points for 1st, 2 points for anyone else
Each captured Ladybug gives 1 bonus point
4 Pandas Dark
For each Bamboo grouping, take the value of the single highest leaf and multiply it by the quantity of shaded Lanterns near it e.g. 3 x 2 for 6 points
Each Party Favour with points on it grants those depicted points
For the Firework, take the number of Trail segments shaded and multiply this by the highest Burst attained e.g. 2 x 6 for 12 points
Dragon segments with points on it grant those depicted points, with the head worth the most at 6 points
Dragon Feet grant points if reached, the highest if 1st, lower value if later
Final Scoring
