Build factories that feed on people. Each factory scores the number of humans on the two districts it sits between, multiplied together. The player with the most points at the end wins. Bitcoins you did not spend score one point each.

==Setup==
==Components==

* The 6 x 6 city is laid out. Humans start in the game area: 72 people, at least one in every district of the area. The 8 humans outside the area stay in a pool and never go on the board, except through "More people".
* The bulldozer starts on a random district of the area. The shield starts beside the board and comes onto it the first time the police are used.
* Each player takes 10 '''bitcoins''' and factories: 15 with 2 players, 14 with 3, 13 with 4. Colours are fixed by turn order: red, blue, yellow, green.
* The starting player is chosen at random.

The game area depends on the number of players:

Goal

People is a dystopian economic strategy game for 2–4 players designed by Néstor Romeral Andrés (a tribute to *Soylent Green*). Build licensed food-processing factories between city districts. Each factory scores the number of humans on its two adjacent districts multiplied together. The player with the highest score wins!

Components

Component Icon Description
Factories Food production plants in 4 player colors (Red, Blue, Yellow, Green) placed on district borders.
Humans Citizens populating city districts that feed adjacent factories.
Bitcoins Currency used to bribe city authorities or kept for +1 victory point each at game end.
Roadblocks Barriers blocking movement and factory placement along street edges.
Bulldozer Heavy vehicle used to scoop up citizens and redistribute them along a straight avenue.
Riot Police & Shield Police unit used to disperse dense citizen crowds into surrounding open districts.

Setup

  • City dimensions: 6×6 grid (divided into player areas: 2P: 5×5; 3P: 5×6; 4P: full 6×6 city).
  • 72 citizens start distributed across the board (at least 1 in every district). 8 citizens start in an outer reserve pool.
  • Each player receives 10 bitcoins and their colored factories (2P: 15; 3P: 14; 4P: 13). Colors follow turn order: Red , Blue , Yellow , Green .
  • The bulldozer starts on a random district.

Your turn

Each turn consists of two steps:

  1. Build a factory (mandatory): Tap an empty edge between two districts in the active city area. An edge can hold either a factory or a roadblock, never both.
  2. Bribe city authorities (optional): Pay 1 bitcoin to execute one bribe, or click Skip bribe. You may bribe only once per turn.

Available Bribes (1 bitcoin each)

  • Riot Police: Select any district with humans (except where the bulldozer sits). The riot shield moves there, dispersing 1 human into each adjacent district without a roadblock.
  • Bulldozer: Scoop up 1 to 5 humans from its current district. Drive straight in any cardinal direction, dropping at least 1 human in each district passed through until all scooped humans are distributed. Cannot drive through roadblocks or off the board.
  • Roadblock: Place 1 roadblock from supply onto any empty street edge in the city.
  • More People: Bring 4 citizens from the external pool into the city. Tap the intersection of 4 districts; each of the 4 surrounding districts gains 1 human.

End of the game and scoring

The game ends immediately when the active player cannot build a factory (either running out of factories or having no legal empty edge remaining).

Final scoring is calculated:

  • Factory points: For each factory you built, multiply the number of humans in the district on one side by the number of humans in the district on the other side.
  • Bitcoin points: +1 point for each unspent bitcoin in your possession.

The player with the highest total score wins! Ties share victory.

Controls on BGA

  • Building: Click any valid yellow-highlighted border edge to build your factory.
  • Bribing: Click one of the 4 bribe action buttons in the status bar, select your target districts or edges, and click blue Confirm. Click red Undo before bribing if you wish to relocate your factory.
  • Tooltips: Hover over any factory or district to preview current multiplication scoring values.
