Game Strategy
- It's a good idea to get investment buildings early on.
- Watch what your opponent is doing and play accordingly.
- If they are building cheap buildings fast to end the game early it might be a bad idea to go for slow investments for big cities.
Turn by Turn Thought Process
The Dilemma:
Winners average 7 hearts, 7 people, and 8 income. How do you get there? And faster than your opponents? The key to Happy City is Continuous, turn by turn assessment.
Turn by Turn Assessment:
- Keep your eye on the metrics: try to average 1 income and 1 meeple/heart per turn.
- What cards do you need to complete your Special Card requirements? Your opponent?
- Understand what cards the 3 piles offer. Which cards (income, hearts, people) would be best for you this turn? Your opponent?
- How can get the card you need and also block what your opponent will want for the next turn?
