- Watch what your opponent is doing and play accordingly.

- If they are building cheap buildings fast to end the game early it might be a bad idea to go for slow investments for big cities.

Turn by Turn Assessment

- Keep your eye on the metrics: assess the potential impact of each card choice. Try to keep a pace of adding 1 income and 1 meeple or heart per turn.

- What cards do you need to complete your Special Card requirements? Your opponent?

- Understand what cards the 3 piles offer. Which cards (income, hearts, people) would be best for you this turn? Your opponent?

- How can get the card you need and also block what your opponent will want for the next turn?
