Plan your tile placing for the next ones, if you can ensure that your opponent does not take the spot first.

For an extra bloom, try to continue one of the vines you have claimed while linking empty vines to claim a new one.

Don't connect two different color empty vines at once - you can only claim one vine, your opponent will gain the other one.

The game is also fun if you and a bunch of your 30+ year old best friends (even better if they all have at minimum, a Masters Degree), collectively decide to just make as many vine loops as possible.
