Racing Tips

Having priority in turn order can help put you in position for the win. When fighting for the top positions, ending your turn in as high a gear as possible can give you the advantage you need. Be careful you have enough brake dice to slow down, however!

On the other hand if you need to make up lost ground, turn order priority will be tougher to achieve. Longer, safer turns with fewer brake dice can help you catch up to your opponents while making it easier to generate focus tokens.

There's a huge difference between a spin that puts you in 0 or a crash that results in 00. That means Loss of Control in gear 2 or 1 is much less punishing. Try to stretch out the slower parts of your turn with coast dice to help guarantee more spaces of movement on your turn. Also, if the later parts of your turn are at a low speed, rolling Flat Out is a little safer since you can more easily rearrange the dice to avoid 00.

Be conscious of the ending speeds of all the cars. Since you need to be at an equal or faster speed to overtake an opponent, they can force you to make a dangerous maneuver to get past. You can also do the same to them!

Always keep in mind that stopping at low speeds can make you vulnerable to getting blocked by other players (especially with a gt-5).
