Tips pinacoladice

Any time you roll the dice, consider the two possible ways to win the game: Getting a Piña Coladice or having the most points after a player triggers the end of the game.

Piña Coladice!

This is the most efficient way to win by scoring four coasters in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal row. If you notice an opponent having three Cocktails lined up, consider the possibility of claiming the last coaster and try to block them before their next turn!

Green coasters - Pairs or Double Pairs; the easiest to claim.

Blue coasters - Three of a Kind

Red coasters - Combinations of several dice; the most difficult to claim.

Triggering End of the Game

Once one player triggers the end of the game, the game continues until all players have played the same number of turns. This is different to the typical "all players play one more turn"; the game will end once it's the turn of the player who has the First Player marker! Keep this in mind when triggering the end of the game by either:

Scoring 20 Points

In addition to scoring the points on the coaster you claim, you gain one additional point for each adjacent coaster you have claimed orthagonally or diagonally. If you can't get a Piña Coladice, try scoring coasters in a manner that you'll score a lot of points by scoring one near them!

OR

Placing your last Cocktail

Pay attention to how many Cocktails your opponents have as you play. Try to avoid passing your turn if possible; if you are on the second roll of your turn and have coasters you could claim, consider claiming them before trying to re-roll!

Happy Hour

If you're playing this variant, you have a few more things to consider as passing your turn may be a viable option. At the whim of a die roll, you have the potential of losing points or having one of your placed Cocktails removed from a coaster, but there are benefits if you roll:

4 - Move another player's Cocktail token to a different, available space*.

This player does not score points, but this may form a Piña Coladice if you're not paying attention!

*There's nothing in the rules specifying that you can't move a Cocktail to a different space on the same coaster. Please edit this section if you have tested this in-game.

5 - Flip any Combination coaster to its other side.

If there are Cocktail tokens on the coaster you flip, they get returned to the players' reserves. They do not lose any points. Additionally, this either adds or removes a space on the coaster!

6 - Immediately score 4 points.

Plain and simple. This could push you over the edge of 20 points and win you the game!
