Do not use a tile that people are bidding on unless you are sure you will win the tile.

If you are playing with more than two players, do not focus too much on blocking others - you will spread yourself too thin, and will lose.

On that note there are sometimes you should block like a skill making tile if a person will get scribes or if there is only one transport in the game.
