Tips dungeonpetz
Scoring
Most of your points in this game come from selling petz to customers. Try to get petz who will appeal to upcoming customers; if you can spare imps, try to put some on the podium to sell for the most points (but don't stress out about this if you're blocked from the podium).
The midgame exhibitions score a maximum of 8/7/6 in a 4/3/2 player game: not negligible, but not huge. Try to score something in the exhibitions but don't worry about placing first and don't specifically get petz for exhibitions if you probably can't sell them later.
The endgame exhibitions are important simply because failing to score in them will give you negative points. Try to clean up poop and get more imps to avoid heavy penalties at the end of the game.
Buying Petz
Try to get petz with overlapping colours; this will make it easier to care for them, because you can freely apportion same-colour need cards between them. If one pet wants red and green, and the other wants purple and yellow, you have very little wiggle room if you draw some bad cards.
Imps, Money and Work
In general, as in most worker placement games where you can get more workers--you should prioritize this!
The best cages and add-ons are those that save you from using imps: ones that fulfill play needs and poop needs (to avoid having to send an imp to clean up poop).
Do not be shy about using money to augment your placement bids--if you really think you have overpaid for a bid, you can always take the imps and money back and hope the spot is still there for a later, cheaper group.
Magic Items
The best ones by far are Employee of the Month Award and the Whip, which will probably score you a few exhibitions.
