Crisps strategy:

spend all of your special hands early in ascending order besides 3 and 4 of a kinds, if its your turn your goal should be to get rid of all the patterns in your deck so that once every card is drawn from the deck all you have left is 3-4 of a kinds and a jumble of random cards in addition to at least one jack so you can go for singles.

If you have 3 10s in your hand, be sure to play them as singles rather than as a 3 of a kind so you can force your opponent to play all their jacks or pass 3 times, and then play your 3-4 of a kinds in ascending order if your opponent plays jack

When choosing a random card or face-up card, choose the face-up card if it makes a match like a consecutive or a 3 of a kind or if it's a high rank such as an 8,9,10 or jack. If it's 7 or lower and doesn't make any patterns, go for the random card.

Once all cards are drawn and you have your jumble of random cards, play them in ascending order so that you can always beat what they play with your jack once you get rid of all your cards.

When facing your opponent, simply match or exceed the rank of what they play. There's no real strategy to reacting to what they do, just keep going higher and consider risking a pass if you only have 1 jack left.
