In Ternary you lay triangular tiles to build a network of coloured roads along which your workers move to claim points and to strategically position themselves. The roads you can use change when players claim points, which changes the 'maze/map'.

On your turn you can 1) LAY a tile, OR 2) CLAIM point tokens (but not both!):

  • To CLAIM points select a worker (click) then click on a reachable destination. The maximum number of point tokens you can claim (anywhere your worker can reach using the active road colours while still arriving at the destination) will be collected. When one or more point tokens are collected by a player the INACTIVE road color changes to the next one.
  • To LAY your drawn tile rotate/flip it first as desired then click on a board face (highlighted as the mouse moves). After laying your tile you are allowed to REPOSITION a worker -- which means move it along active road colours but this time they DON'T claim any point tokens they pass along the way.

Workers cannot traverse roads having the 'inactive' colour. Some roads are one-way. Workers cannot pass through opponent workers. Workers cannot end movement in the same location as another worker. There are 37 point tokens available. Player who collects the most wins.
