Core Mechanisms
- Tile Placement: Players place number tiles (1–5) or mathematical symbols (+, -, =) on a grid to form equations.
- Sum Building: Points are earned based on the length and the result of the equations formed.
- Intersections: Similar to Scrabble, tiles can be part of multiple equations (horizontal and vertical) simultaneously.
Placement Rules
On your turn, play tiles from your hand (5 tiles) to form at least one mathematically correct equation.
- Connection: At least one placed tile must be adjacent to a tile already on the board.
- Equations: Every equation must contain exactly one equals sign (=) per linear sequence (e.g., 2 + 3 = 5 or 4 = 4).
- Direction: Equations are read from left to right or top to bottom.
- Complexity: You can use multiple operators in a row (e.g., 1 + 1 + 2 = 4).
Turn Structure
A turn consists of three steps:
- Play Tiles: Place any number of tiles from your hand onto the board.
- Score Points: Calculate points for all new or modified equations (see below).
- Refill Hand: Draw new tiles from the bag until you have 5 cards/tiles again.
Scoring System
- Base Points: Each tile that is part of a new or modified equation scores **1 point**.
- Result Bonus: The number to the right of the equals sign (the sum) is added to the score.
- Example: For "2 + 3 = 5", you get 5 points (for 5 tiles) + 5 points (the result) = 10 points.
- Double Scoring: If a tile is part of both a horizontal and a vertical equation, it is scored for both.
- Bonus Squares: Some board spaces double or triple the value of a tile or the entire equation score.
End of Game
The game ends when the bag is empty and one player has used all their tiles, or when no more legal moves can be made.
- Winning: The player with the highest total score wins.
