Turn Play

During your turn you choose to perform any of the following actions, in any order. They may be repeated multiple times, as much as you like.

  • Play a card from your hand
  • Entice a Shark from the Pool
  • Chomp a Shark from the Pool

When you play a card, place it in front of you, then gain the reward from the Play Effect (Top yellow box). Playing a card does not cost anything. Most cards will provide you with Bite. You accumulate Bite as a “currency/ resource”, if a card provides it with its Play Effect or Chomp Effect, and it is used to either Entice or Chomp sharks.

In order to Entice or Chomp sharks from the Pool, subtract their Bite Cost from the total Bite you have accumulated.

When a Shark is Enticed from the Pool, place it face up into your personal Discard pile. It is then immediately replaced with a Shark card from the Shark Deck face up.

When a Shark is Chomped from the Pool, gain its Chomp Ability (bottom burnt orange box). Exile the shark from the game (Place it in the Exile Zone). It is immediately replaced with a Chum Card from the Chum Pile face up.

Chum

Chum are not considered Sharks. Most of them have a static effect that might change the cost of the sharks while the Chum is in the Pool. This never affects the Nurse shark. Nurses always cost 3. Chum can only be Chomped, it cannot be Enticed. When Chum is Chomped, gain its Chomp Effect (bottom burnt orange box) then immediately replace it with a Shark from the Shark Deck face up.

End of Turn

At the end of your turn discard any cards you chose not to play. Every card you played will be sent to your Discard Pile, unless it was Exiled. These cards will be placed face up into your own separate pile creating a personal Discard Pile. Cards that are Exiled will be placed in the Exile Zone. Then draw 4 cards from your Shiver (Personal Deck). You lose any Bite you were unable to spend this turn. If you need to draw a card(s) from your Shiver (deck) and it’s empty, flip your Discard Pile facedown and shuffle it to replenish your Shiver (deck).

Ending the Game

When the Chum Pile has been depleted, the game will enter its End Game Phase. During this time Sharks can still be Chomped, but they will be replaced with a Shark from the Shark Deck. Continue this play until all Chum cards have been Chomped from the Pool. Once all Chum cards have been Chomped the game will finally end after the current round ends (giving each player an equal number of turns).

Shark's in each Player's Shiver (deck) will have Shark Teeth Points indicated in the bottom right corner. Each player counts these points, along with the amount of physical Shark Teeth they collected throughout the game. The player with the most Shark Teeth wins the game.

Keywords

Entice

When you Entice a shark from the Pool, subtract its Bite Cost from the Bite you have accumulated, then place it in your Discard Pile face up. You will not gain any effects unless the card specifically says so. Then you will immediately replace it with a Shark from the Shark Deck face up.

Chomp

When you Chomp a shark, subtract its Bite Cost from the Bite you have accumulated, then you immediately gain it's Chomp Effect. That shark is Exiled, then you will immediately replace it with a card from the Chum Pile face up.

Exile

When a card is Exiled, it is removed from the playing area and cannot return this game, unless a card specifically says so. If a shark is Exiled from your hand, you do not use its Play Effect since you have not played it yet. If a shark is Exiled from the Pool, it is immediately replaced with another Shark from the Shark Deck. Place any card that is Exiled into the Exile Zone.
