Objective
As a corrupt investigator, your goal is to "plant evidence" on your rivals while clearing your own name. The player with the lowest total guilt score at the end of the game wins.
Core Mechanisms
- Drafting & Placement: Select cards from the market and place them into your 3x3 grid (your "desk").
- Manipulation: Card effects allow you to move, swap, or hide evidence on your own desk or your opponents'.
- Suspect Levels: Icons like fingerprints and DNA determine who is the "Prime Suspect" at the end.
Gameplay
The game proceeds in turns until everyone's 3x3 grid is full. On your turn:
- Draft Evidence: Select one card from the face-up display.
- Place Evidence: Place the card into an empty slot in your 3x3 grid.
- Resolve Effect: Immediately trigger the card's ability (see Card Reference).
- Refill: Replace the drafted card in the market for the next player.
Card Reference
Use these effects to manage your guilt:
- Move: Slide a card on your desk to an adjacent empty slot.
- Stash: Tuck a card under another card. The bottom card is hidden and doesn't count toward your score unless revealed later.
- Swap: Switch the positions of two cards (within your desk or between your desk and a rival's).
- Destroy: Remove a piece of evidence entirely from the game.
- Briefcase: Protects cards in its row or column from being moved or swapped by opponents.
Scoring Symbols
- Guilt Value: The numerical values on cards (lower is better).
- Alibi Icons: Can cancel out guilt points if arranged in specific patterns (e.g., diagonals).
- Evidence Types (Fingerprints/DNA): Collecting the most of a specific type makes you the "Prime Suspect," resulting in penalty points.
End of Game & Scoring
The game ends when all players have filled their 3x3 grids.
- Base Guilt: Sum the values of all visible cards on your desk.
- Apply Alibis: Subtract points for completed Alibi patterns.
- Prime Suspect Penalties: The player(s) with the most icons of each evidence type gain extra penalty points.
- Winner: The player with the lowest final score is the "cleanest" investigator and wins.
