Over the course of 12 rounds, you try to build the most valuable succulent collection.
Action Phase
On your turn, choose one of four actions:
Note: BGA will only show you actions that are available to you at the moment. Set up will be provided according to official rules and player count. For reference, please refer to the official rule book.
1. Buy: Buy a plant or pot from the market and add it to your collection, using leaves from your Money Tree as currency. Money tree is the only one with this ability, so you want to keep it well stocked.
2. Cut: Cut an opponent’s plant and add it to your collection. To do so, the opposing plant must have at least 1 leaf and there must be at least 1 copy of that plant left in the supply.
3. Tend: This action consists of two parts, “Moving” and “Watering and Growth”. Carry them out in any order:
- Moving: Displace up to 2 plants one after the other or swap 2 plants.
- Watering and Growth: Gain 2 water from the supply and distribute that water together with any water from your watering can on your pots, placing any excess water in the watering can. Then carry out an additional Growth phase (see “Growth Phase” below).
4. Flower: Flower a plant in your collection. To do so, it must be in a same-colored pot or a wild pot and the Flower of that color must still be available. There is only one Flower of each color. Place the matching Flower on the plant. From now on, that beauty wants to be left untouched: it cannot receive any more water, nor grow, nor be moved or cut.
The following phases are played simultaneously by all players:
Weather Phase
Gain water according to the current weather card and distribute that water on your pots or watering can. There are 12 weather cards and they act as round counter for 12 rounds in total.
Growth Phase
Note: BGA carries out this phase automatically.
Water turns to leaves in pots full of water: water drops will be flipped to become leaves automatically.
Note: Regard the total of leaves your pot allows (= number on the top left of any pot card). Any access your pot can not hold will go back to the supply.
Clean-Up Phase
Note: BGA carries out this phase automatically.
- All cards in the market gain one additional leaf or water token. Plants with 4 leaves and pots with more water than they can hold get discarded. Then the market gets replenished.
- Reveal a new weather card.
- Pass the start player marker clockwise to the next player.
Game End and Scoring
The game ends after 12 rounds. You get points in the following categories:
- 1 point for each leaf on your plants, except the money tree.
- 7 points for each Flower in your collection.
- Points for certain plant colors according to their printed effect: purple, yellow, orange, red, and special plants. To get an overview on scoring conditions, use mouse over or refer to the appendix.
- 2 points for each pot in your collection, including the three pots you started your collection with.
