Frenzy Falls

Overview

Frenzy Falls is a tactical card game of influence, timing, and cascading spillovers.

Players play Waterfall cards into shared Pools in order to raise water levels and win valuable Score cards.

Each card contributes:

  • Water Value — helps Pools spill over
  • Influence Icons — determines control

When a Pool reaches a total water value of 10 or more, it spills over. The player with the most influence in that Pool wins the Score card.

The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Gameplay

Frenzy Falls is played in rounds.

Each round has two phases:

  • Playing Cards
  • Revealing Cards

Phase 1: Playing Cards

Starting with the first player and moving clockwise:

  • Play 1 Waterfall card face-down to the end of any Pool.

Repeat until:

  • Each player has played 2 cards

2-player game:

  • Each player instead plays 3 cards

Cards may be played into any Pool.

Phase 2: Revealing Cards

After all cards have been played:

  • Start with the top-most Pool
  • Reveal cards from left to right

When an action card is revealed:

  • Resolve its action immediately

This phase consists of:

  1. Reveal and resolve cards
  2. Check for spillovers
  3. Proceed to next Pool

Card Actions

PROXY

Discard this card and replace it with a card from your hand face-up.

  • If the replacement card has an action:
    • Resolve it immediately

BUMP

Move the card immediately to the left or right of this card into the Pool below.

  • Choose left or right
  • Move it to the end of the next Pool

If this is the bottom Pool:

  • The card loops to the top Pool

If no neighboring card exists:

  • Nothing happens

PULL

Move any one Waterfall card from another Pool into this Pool.

  • Choose any other Pool
  • Move the chosen card to the end of this Pool

If no other cards exist:

  • Nothing happens

Spillovers

After all cards in a Pool are revealed:

Calculate:

Score Card Water Value + all Waterfall card values

If the total is 10 or higher:

👉 The Pool spills over.

Resolve the spillover:

1. Determine Influence

Count influence icons for each player.

  • Most influence wins the Score card.

Tie breaker:

  • Earliest card played (left-most) wins.

Winner takes the Score card face-down.

Replace it immediately with a new Score card.

---

2. Winner Discards

The winning player discards all of their cards from that Pool.

---

3. Other Players Move Cards

Starting with the earliest played card:

Each other player:

  • Chooses one of their cards
  • Moves it to the Pool below

Bottom Pool:

  • Cards loop to the top Pool

---

4. Discard Remaining Cards

All remaining cards are discarded.

Players must reveal all cards before checking for spillovers.

Proceed to the Next Pool

After resolving a Pool:

  • Move to the next Pool below

After the bottom Pool:

  • Return to the top Pool if needed

Continue until:

  • No face-down cards remain
  • Every Pool has water value below 10

Cards may cascade multiple times.

Round End

After all Pools are resolved:

Each player:

  • May discard any remaining hand cards
  • Draws until they have exactly 5 cards

If your deck runs out:

  • Shuffle your discard pile
  • Create a new draw deck

Pass the First Player card clockwise.

End of the Game

If a Score card cannot be replaced:

  • Finish the current round
  • The game ends

Players reveal their Score cards.

Add up all points.

Highest score wins.

Tie breaker:

  1. Most Score cards
  2. Shared victory

Strategy Tips

  • High-value Pools may be worth more points—but are easier to spill.
  • PROXY cards become stronger later in resolution.
  • BUMP and PULL can trigger chain reactions.
  • Sometimes losing a Pool is worth setting up the next one.
