Objective

Collect the most valuable loot over three rounds by winning tricks and completing adventure quests. The player with the highest total value of crowns, trinkets, and treasures at the end of the game wins.

Card Reference

  • Mercenary Cards: There are 6 factions (suits). Each card has a numerical value and often a special ability.
  • Quest Cards: Provide conditions (e.g., "Win a trick with a 4"). Completed quests grant loot tokens.
  • Loot: Consists of Crowns (monetary value), Trinkets (set collection), and Treasures (special scoring).

Gameplay

The game lasts 3 rounds. Each round consists of a drafting phase and a trick-taking phase.

  1. Drafting Phase:
    • Everyone is dealt 8 Mercenary cards. Choose one and pass the rest until everyone has 8 cards.
    • Also, select Quest cards from a public display.
  2. Trick Phase (8 tricks per round):
    • Leading: The first player plays a card, determining the suit and the win condition for this trick (Highest or Lowest card wins).
    • Following Suit: All other players must follow the led suit. If you cannot follow suit, you may play any card (including trumps).
    • Dice Modifiers: Some cards allow you to roll dice, which add to or modify the card's value for that trick.
  3. Completing Quests:
    • As soon as you win a trick or fulfill a condition on a Quest card, you reveal it and take the corresponding loot from the supply.

Winning the Trick & Tiebreakers

Only players who followed the led suit (or played a joker/trump) are eligible to win the trick.

  1. The player who best meets the win condition (Highest/Lowest) wins.
  2. Tiebreaker 1: In case of a tie, the larger die type wins (d20 > d12 > d10, etc.).
  3. Tiebreaker 2: The player who was latest in the turn order wins.

Game End & Scoring

After the third round, loot tokens are totaled:

  • Crowns: Direct gold value.
  • Trinkets: Bonuses for different sets.
  • Treasures: Special scoring conditions found on the cards.
  • The player with the highest total value wins.
