In Letter Tycoon, players build words using letter cards to earn money and stock. Money is used to buy letter patents, which earn royalties when other players use that letter. Some patents also grant special abilities.

The game ends when the sum of one player's patents reach a goal value, which depends on the number of players. At the end of the last round, the player with the most combined value of patents, money, and stock wins!

Each player starts has a hand of 7 letter cards. A shared community pool of 3 letter cards can also be used when building words.

Every letter has a corresponding patent, which begins play unowned.
