You are captaining a starship through a newly-discovered galaxy. Your mission: to recruit a crew of alien species and robots, synergizing their skills to earn points. During the course of the game, you will deploy 5 ships. Each will land on, then explore, new worlds. Collect sets, fulfill objectives, set off combos.

COMPONENTS:

Captain cards (black border):

~ Everyone starts with only a captain card in play.

~ The captain's occupation (skill) symbol in the upper right corner counts toward set completion.

~ The card also features a bonus action track that is triggered whenever a Veteran card is put into play. Each captain has a unique set of bonus actions.

Crew Cards: (specialists, emissaries and robots)

Specialists (blue border, animal head symbols)

~ Comprised of 6 different animals that can be collected for points.

~ Each has an occupation symbol (top right of card) that can be collected for points AND used in combos.

Emissaries (brown border, clipboard symbol)

~ These grant points at the end of the game for meeting objectives.

~ These also animals that count toward set collection

Robots (green border)

~ These are worth points (as shown inside a yellow hexagon in the top right corner).

~ May have an occupation symbol in the top right corner.

Veterans (medal symbol)

~ Specialists, Emissaries and Robots can all be veterans. Look for a medal symbol at the top left corner of the card to indicate whether they are a veteran.

~ Putting a veteran into play earns an immediate bonus action

Planets:

Each planet card has 2 landing spaces on the bottom and 2 exploration spaces at the top. Each grants an action: draw cards or play cards. You must land a ship on a planet before you can explore it.

~ Some planets feature a condition that must be met before the action can be taken, such as discarding a card from your hand or having specific symbols in play. You may not land a spaceship there unless the condition has been met.

~ Two planet cards are undiscovered. They are not available to land on and explore until you have put 6 crew and 9 crew into play respectively.

~ If you're not able to land or explore, you must pass your turn.

Spaceships:

Plan wisely - you only have 5 ships to place. After landing, a ship can explore one time.

HOW TO PLAY

On each turn, you will land or explore, then resolve the planet's action.

COMBOS occur when you play a card. Most crew have an ability on the bottom left of the card. These are triggered immediately when played.

~ Some abilities may require you to meet a condition (such as having a robot or specific occupation in play). If the condition is not met, you can still play the card, but you can't use the card ability.

GAME END

Game ends after 10 rounds, once everyone has landed AND explored with their 5 spaceships.

POINTS

Points are only earned for cards that you put into play during the course of the game. Cards in hand have no value.

SETS OF THE SAME ANIMAL:

~ the 1st 2 animals aren't worth any points

~ 5 points for the 3rd animal

~ 5 points apiece for each additional animal in the sets

SETS OF DIFFERENT ANIMALS:

~ 15 points for each set of all six different animal species

EMISSARY CARD OBJECTIVES:

~ Earn points as described on the card

ROBOTS

~ Earn points equal to the amount in the hexagon symbols on all of your robot card

VETERAN BONUS

~ Each captain card gives points for the 4th veteran you put into play. If you don't put 4 into play, you don't receive these points.
