Overview
In Blooming Bouquets, players are florists creating beautiful bouquets by rolling flower dice and collecting flowers from the market.
Complete bouquet orders to earn points. When a player completes their third bouquet, the final round is triggered. The player with the most points wins!
The game includes Competitive, Cooperative, and Solo modes.
Flowers
There are five flower types:
- Common Flowers (1 point each): Daisies, Daffodils, and Zinnias
- Rare Flowers (2 points each): Roses and Lilies
Rare flowers are harder to roll but are worth twice as many points.
Competitive Mode (2-4 Players)
Setup
- Each player receives an order board and 1 random bouquet order.
- Shuffle the remaining bouquets into a face-down deck.
- Fill the flower market with 5 randomly selected flowers.
- Each player rolls all 5 dice. Whoever rolls the most daisies goes first. WILD results count as daisies for this purpose.
- Play proceeds clockwise.
Turn Overview
Each turn consists of three steps:
1. Draw a Bouquet (Optional)
You may draw 1 new bouquet order at the start of your turn.
- You may have up to 5 active bouquet orders.
- If your board is full, discard an existing bouquet before adding the new one.
- Flowers on a discarded bouquet must be moved to other bouquets or your open flowers area.
- You may discard the newly drawn bouquet instead of keeping it.
2. Roll Dice and Collect Flowers
Roll all 5 flower dice up to 3 times.
- First roll: Roll all 5 dice.
- Second and third rolls: Reroll any number of dice, including none.
- After your final roll, collect eligible flowers from the market or steal open flowers from opponents.
Flower Collection Rules
You must roll at least 2 matching flowers to collect that type.
You may collect up to 1 fewer flower than the number of matching dice.
Examples:
- 2 matching dice = 1 flower
- 3 matching dice = 2 flowers
- 4 matching dice = 3 flowers
- 5 matching dice = 4 flowers
A WILD can count as any one flower type when determining matches. It cannot count as multiple flower types on the same roll.
You may collect different types of flowers from the same roll, provided each qualifies.
Collection is limited by the flowers available in the market or available to steal.
Placing Flowers
Place collected flowers onto matching spaces on your bouquet orders.
- Flowers placed on bouquets are protected from stealing.
- You may move flowers between your bouquets before the game end is triggered.
- Completing every required flower on a bouquet completes that order.
- Completed bouquets are moved off your order board and count toward the 3-bouquet game end condition.
Open Flowers and Stealing
Flowers that cannot be placed on your current bouquet orders may be stored in your open flowers area.
- Open flowers can be stolen by opponents when they collect that flower type.
- Stolen flowers replace flowers that would otherwise be collected from the market.
- When you obtain a bouquet requiring an open flower, you may immediately move it onto that bouquet.
- Once placed on a bouquet, a flower is safe from stealing.
3. Refill the Flower Market
At the end of your turn, refill the market to 5 flowers by randomly drawing from the bag.
Game End
The first player to complete 3 bouquets triggers the end of the game.
Finish the current round so every player receives an equal number of turns.
Then calculate final scores.
Scoring
Players score points in three ways:
1. Flower Points
- Daisies: 1 point each
- Daffodils: 1 point each
- Zinnias: 1 point each
- Roses: 2 points each
- Lilies: 2 points each
Count all collected flowers, including flowers on completed bouquets, incomplete bouquets, and in the open flowers area.
2. Bouquet Points
Each successfully completed bouquet scores the number of points printed on its vase: 1, 2, or 3 points.
Incomplete bouquets do not award bouquet points, but their flowers still score normally.
3. Green Thumb Bonus
Award 1 bonus point to the player who collected the most flowers of each type.
There are five possible Green Thumb bonuses, one for each flower type.
Final Score = Flower Points + Completed Bouquet Points + Green Thumb Bonuses
The player with the highest total score wins!
Cooperative Mode
Work together to complete and ship 6 bouquets before an incomplete bouquet falls off the order queue.
Setup
- Beginner/Casual: Use 2 order boards side by side.
- Hard: Use only 1 order board.
- Create a deck containing exactly 6 bouquet cards.
- For an easier challenge, use only bouquets requiring 3 or 4 flowers.
- Place the first bouquet in the leftmost position of the queue.
- Fill the market with 5 flowers.
If the initial market contains no usable flowers for the first bouquet, return all 5 to the bag and redraw without penalty. Repeat if necessary.
Gameplay
Players take turns using the normal dice rolling and collection rules.
- Players work together to fill the bouquets in the queue.
- Open flower storage is limited to 3 flowers total.
- If collecting flowers would exceed the limit, immediately return the excess flowers to the bag.
- Completed bouquets are shipped and removed from the queue.
- When a bouquet is shipped, shift the remaining bouquets left to close the gap.
At the end of each player's turn:
- Shift the active bouquet orders one position to the right.
- Add the next bouquet from the deck to the queue, if any remain.
- Continue shifting bouquets each turn, even after all 6 have entered the queue.
Game End
The game ends when an incomplete bouquet slides off the end of the queue.
Count the number of successfully shipped bouquets to determine your team's rating.
Cooperative Ratings
- 1-2 Bouquets: Budding Florists (Room to Grow)
- 3 Bouquets: Blossoming Florists (Quite Rose-ilient)
- 4-5 Bouquets: Blooming Florists (A Daffo-delight!)
- 6 Bouquets: Master Florists (2 Green Thumbs Up!)
Solo Mode
Complete as many of your 4 bouquets as possible before the game's hand completes its own bouquet.
Setup
- Use 1 order board.
- Draw 5 bouquet cards.
- Discard 1 and place the remaining 4 on your order board.
- Leave the fifth order space empty.
- Place 1 additional bouquet above your board as the game's hand.
Choose the game's hand difficulty:
- Casual: 5-flower bouquet
- Standard: 4-flower bouquet
- Hard: 3-flower bouquet
Gameplay
Roll dice and collect flowers using the normal rules, with the following changes:
- You do not draw additional bouquet orders.
- You MUST collect all flowers you are eligible to collect from your final dice roll.
- There is no open flowers area.
- Flowers you cannot place on your bouquets are given to the game's hand.
- If a flower matches an unfilled space on the game's hand bouquet, you must place it there.
- Otherwise, discard that flower permanently from play.
Choose your rerolls and WILD assignments carefully to avoid providing useful flowers to the game's hand.
Game End
The game ends when either:
- The game's hand completes its bouquet, OR
- You successfully complete all 4 of your own bouquets.
Solo Scoring
Add your Flower Points and Completed Bouquet Points. Green Thumb Bonuses do not apply.
Solo Ratings:
- 12-14 Points: Budding Florists (Room to Grow)
- 15-17 Points: Blossoming Florists (Quite Rose-ilient)
- 18+ Points: Blooming Florists (A Daffo-delight!)
