1. Production locations and deals give you resources back immediately, so you can buy one after another with few starting resources.

2. Workers are best spent on drawing more cards. Exchanging them for resources is generally inefficient.

3. End game scores of 100+ are possible. Barbarians are easiest to get in that range, they have many cost-efficient production locations.
