Goal
nestorgames GP is a high-speed Formula racing game designed by Néstor Romeral Andrés. Players control racecars circling asphalt circuits, pushing their luck with dice to overtake rivals, drafting, using weapons and gadgets, and avoiding fatal high-speed corner crashes to be the first driver to complete 3 laps (or the chosen target lap count) and take the checkered flag!
Components & Hazards
Race Setup & Qualifying
- At the beginning of the race, drivers make a qualifying roll to determine grid positions.
- Each player starts in their designated grid stall with 6 dice
and 3 lap discs.
Turn Sequence
If your car is currently crashed (belly-up), your turn is spent righting the car: click to flip it upright and pass the turn without movement (unless using a Wrench
).
Otherwise, choose one of two options:
1. Fix Your Car
Instead of driving, you may retrieve 1 lost die from your pit box back into your active dice pool. Your car remains stationary this round.
2. Drive (Push Your Luck Rolling)
Roll your dice
one at a time, up to your total available dice count:
- After each die roll, decide whether to Stop or Roll Another Die.
- Safe Driving (No Duplicates): If you stop with all distinct numbers rolled, sum the face values and advance your car forward along the track spaces by that exact total.
- Spinout on a Straight (Duplicate Number): If you roll a number already rolled earlier this turn while entering or travelling on a straight, your engine stalls! Your turn ends immediately and your car stays in place without moving.
- Crash on a Corner (Duplicate Number): If you roll a duplicate while your move enters or navigates a red-and-white corner section, your car crashes! Flip your car belly-up, lose 1 die to the pit box, and immediately end your turn.
Bumping, Collisions, and Drafting
- Bumping on Straights: If your car ends its movement on an occupied space on a straight section, you bump that car forward 1 space. If that space is also occupied, a chain reaction bumps subsequent cars forward.
- Corner Collisions: If a car is bumped into a corner cell, or lands on a car occupying a corner, both cars crash!
- Drafting (Slipstream): Starting your turn directly behind another car grants aerodynamic slipstream bonuses.
Winning the Grand Prix
Each time your car crosses the finish line at the end of a full circuit, you clear 1 lap. The first driver to complete all 3 laps wins the Grand Prix! Remaining racers complete the current lap to determine podium placements.
