Treat 3-cube cities as an urgent priority to prevent outbreaks.

Pandemic is all about efficiency of action. Learn to use Direct flight and Charter flight to get to where you need to quickly.

Don't discard too many city cards of the same colour if that colour disease has not been cured yet (as a rule, more than 5 is too many).

Build research stations whenever you can as the Operations expert, since research stations can be important for transportation as well as curing diseases.

The Dispatcher and the Medic make a great combo once you've cured a disease.

Make sure you can prevent the first outbreak as long as you can, which may seem obvious, but the game is a lot harder past it.

Save the One quiet night event card for when you most need it, it's your most important event and can only be used once, unless you have the contingency planner.

The Quarantine specialist is important for preventing outbreaks, so if you are them, try to be in a good blocking location over treating low disease locations.

Don't forget to keep an eye on your player deck. Once all the cards are drawn it's game over.
