In particular, after watching a play-through video on youtube and going through the nice tutorial on BGA, I was greatly confused when my friend and I attempt to play the game on BGA. The default settings exclude many of the game aspects shown in the tutorial, and also seem to add some additional action spaces.

I believe there are different versions of the physical game, and likely there are some "house rules" developed in the playing community. But how can a novice set the options os that they can play a game that's consistent with what is shown in the tutorial?

Is there anywhere that gives a description of the options settings for this game?

In particular, after watching a play-through video on youtube and going through the nice tutorial on BGA, I was greatly confused when my friend and I attempted to play the game on BGA. The default settings exclude many of the game aspects shown in the tutorial, and also seem to add some additional action spaces. For exxample, the minor upgrades and occupations are used in the tutorial, but are nowhere to be found in the game played with the default settings.

I believe there are different versions of the physical game, and likely there are some "house rules" developed in the playing community. That's all normal. But how can a novice set the options so that they can play a game that's consistent with what is shown in the tutorial?
