When playing a card face down, it is not required to match the habitat. Players can only play a total of 3 face-down cards on their side of the board.
After playing a card into an area, '''compare the strenghts'''. Players win an area by having the highest value of combined card value (only face-up cards) in that area. If so, move the '''claim token''' onto their side of the board. Otherwise, it stays where it is.

Try to win the majority of the home areas

Playing a card

Players take turns playing a card into a habitat on their side of the board either face-up or face-down. They can only play cards in areas that are not full. An area is full when it has 3 cards.

When playing a card face up, it must match suit with the area it is placed in. When playing a card face down, it is not required to match suit. Players can only play a total of 3 face-down cards on their side of the board. After playing a card, the opponent must take the card on top of the area in which the card was just placed and add it to their hand. A new card is added to the area.

Compare Strenghts

After playing a card into an area, compare the strenghts. Players win an area by having the highest value of combined card value (only face-up cards) in that area. If so, move the claim token onto their side of the board. Otherwise, it stays where it is.

Game end

There are 3 ways to end the game.

  • If a player has all 5 claim tokens on their side of the board – they win the game immediately.
  • If a player cannot play a cardthey lose the game immediately.
  • If the game ends by both sides becoming full – players now reveal all their face-down cards and check their strenghts in each of the 5 areas. If the revealed card matches the suit it is added to the total value, if not its discarded. The claim token is moved to the side with the highest value. But if the value is double (or more) than their opponents, the area is lost and the other player geths the claim token instead. The player with the most claim tokens wins the game.
