The game lasts 8 rounds (indicated at the top by the round marker).
Things To Know
Things I wish I'd known when playing a first game.
- You can hold a maximum of 8 Warriors (dice) at any one time.
- Dice faces are described if you click the little blue (i) next to the Warriors list in your play area.
- You can only use the Worker Huts once, to receive one additional worker.
- You can only use the Shipwright once, to buy one longship. Once you have one, you're stuck with it for the game.
- To fight a monster (bottom of the board) you need
- a longship, and a worker assigned to it.
- warriors to put on the longship (done after the worker placement phase)
- enough food to feed the warriors (done after warrior placement). The first two longship spots require one food for every two warriors. If you don't have enough, some warriors starve!
- When resolving a longship journey, the game will reveal a journey card. If you have a journey rune, the game will ask if you want to use it. Don't say yes, unless the revealed journey card is a bad one!
End game scoring
- Score for destiny cards (Indicated by the silver/grey circles - the person indicator shows if tied).
- Sets of enemies (1 of each of the three colours) scores 5 Glory points.
- Runes (Indicated by number of silver/grey glory circles) - it doesn't matter if used/unused.
- Private long ships (brought during the game for money and wood).
- Favour of the gods - Each is worth 2 glory points.
- 3 Coins = 1 Glory point
Blame Penalty
Then minus for Blame:
- 1 = -1
- 2 = -3
- 3 = -6
- 4 = -10
- 5 = -15
- 6+ = -21 (who did you annoy?)
