General Tips:
- Claimed Locations
- When you claim a location with a card effect or by the rulebook claim action, the location remain under your control until another player uses an action to remove your control, take control of the location themselves, or during Dusk when all locations become uncontrolled.
- It is not an ideal play for you to attempt a second rulebook claim action, claim effect, or effect to take control of a location when you already control it. It does not advance your win condition.
- Remember that renown on a claimed location is normally only collected during the Plunder phase, so extra claims on the location when you already control it do nothing for you.
Vodacce Tips:
- Brute Character Cards
- When playing Vodacce, you will have access to a special character card in your faction deck. They have the Brute keyword.Characters with Brute do not go into the Approach Deck when building a deck. They are shuffled into the Faction Deck and are brought into play by paying costs as normal. Brutes enter play at that player’s Home unless stated otherwise. Brutes are discarded from play at the end of the Day. When a character with Brute would be discarded or destroyed they enter the discard pile instead of The Locker. Brutes do not count towards a Leader’s Crew Cap.
- Vodacce Leader: Don Constanzo Scarpa has an optional reaction to take at the end of the day. This reaction will temporarily remove Brute keyword from one of your cards. Taking this reaction at end of day allows you to keep one Brute character that would otherwise discarded at end of day due to their own keyword.
- The Don's reaction to remove the Brute keyword temporarily for one of your characters also works as a combo with the Vodacce Approach Deck Character Cirilo. Once Cirilo is in play he makes all mercenaries under your control gain Brute. This does mean all your mercenaries have the potential to be discarded at end of each day from Brute keyword, however using Don Scarpa's reaction will let remove Brute at end of the day on one of hose mercenaries that happened to gain the Brute keyword from Cirilo.
- Keep in mind, that when you remove this Brute keyword you then have to be mindful of crew cap, since the removal of the keyword makes them suddenly count against your crew cap again.
