Challengers! Beach Cup is a deck-management, auto-battler tournament-style board game for 1-8 players (or up to 16 when combined with the original game).
Core Gameplay Flow (7 Rounds)
Tournament Structure: Players compete in a 7-round tournament, facing a new opponent in each round.
Deck Phase (Drafting): Players individually improve their deck:
They draw and draft new Challenger Cards (Levels A, B, or C, with C being the strongest) to add to their deck.
They can optionally remove cards from their deck to optimize synergy.
New in Beach Cup: You can gain Fans (points) if you choose lower-level cards when higher-level cards are an alternative.
Match Phase (Auto-Battle): Players duel an opponent simultaneously:
The match is an "auto-battle" where players flip cards from their decks one at a time.
The Attacker plays cards until their accumulated power matches or beats the Defender's card power.
The final card the Attacker played becomes the new Defender's card, and the roles switch.
Defeated cards go to a player's Bench.
The match continues until one player's Bench is full or they run out of cards in their deck.
The winner captures the flag and takes the top-most Trophy (which is worth fans).
Winning the Game
After 7 rounds, the two players with the most Fans (from tokens and Trophies) qualify for the Final Match.
The winner of the Final Match is crowned the Champion.
Key Additions in Beach Cup (vs. Original)
Trainers: Each player gets a unique Trainer card that provides an ongoing, game-long special power, adding a new layer of strategy.
New Sets: The game introduces new card sets and abilities that focus on new mechanics, like using the "exhaust pile" or earning Fans in different ways.
