You can use lightning bolts on your initial play (but not any bonus plays) to increase or decrease the number by 1. This can be used multiple times (for example, using 2 lightning bolts to change a 4 to a 6). 1 and 9 can wrap around to each other.
Lightning tokens can be used to increase or decrease the number on the card being played by 1 for each lightning token used. For example, if a 4 is drawn, you can spend one lightning token to cross off a 5 or a 3, or spend two lightning tokens to score 6 or 2. The number 9 can wrap around to 1 and vice versa. You cannot use lighting tokens to adjust a number given through a bonus action.

It's a game. There are boxes. You need luck. And it's Super Mega.

Overview

The objective of the game is to cross off all the numbers on your lucky box cards. Complete rows and columns to earn points and bonus actions. Each round, nine number cards will be drawn from an 18-card deck. Each card is numbered 1 through 9 twice. For each card drawn, cross off a matching number on one of your lucky box cards. After 4 rounds, see who was luckiest!

Gameplay

At the beginning of the game, choose 3 of the 5 lucky box cards available. Then the top card of the deck is revealed. Click that number on any of your Lucky Box cards to cross it off.

When you cross off all three numbers on a row or column, gain the bonus action shown in the box at the end. Bonuses are:

  • Number: You may cross that number off in another box.
  • Question mark: You may cross off any number in another box.
  • Lightning bolt(s): Take one or two Lightning tokens from the supply.
  • Star: Used in scoring for the round.
  • Moon: Used in scoring the end of the game.

Scoring

Each completed Lucky Box card scores points based on the round it was completed:

  • Round 1 = 15 points for each card
  • Round 2 = 12 points for each card
  • Round 3 = 10 points for each card
  • Round 4 = 8 points for each card

Stars earn points based on how many you gain in a round.

  • 1 star = 1 point
  • 2 stars = 4 points
  • 3 or more stars = 9 points

At the end of the game, the player with the MOST moons earns 6 points. The player with the FEWEST moons loses 6 points (except in a two-player game). In case of a tie for moons, all tied players gain or lose the full 6 points.

Finally, gain 1 point for every 2 crossed-out boxes on incomplete Lucky Box cards.

The player with the most points wins the game! In case of a tie, the player with the most moons wins.

Solo Rules

You can have a party all by yourself! Rules are the same except for the moon scoring at the end:

  • 0 moons = -6 points
  • 1 moon = -2 points
  • 2 moons = 0 points
  • 3 moons = 1 point
  • 4 moons = 3 points
  • 5 moons = 6 points
  • 6+ moons = 10 points
