Overview

Pescado Novo is a new way to enjoy the classic Spanish card game, Escoba.

In this fishing-themed fishing game, there are 4 suits, numbered 1-10, plus some special cards mixed in for variety. You play cards from your hand to "fish" cards from the table.

Gameplay

At the start of each round, two number cards are randomly removed from the deck and two random special cards are shuffled in. Each player is dealt 3 cards into their hand. Then 4 cards are placed face-up in the center of the table.

Players take turns clockwise. The goal is to capture face-up cards with your hand cards. On your turn, you must play one card to the table. If the value of your hand card can combine with cards on the table to equal 15, you capture those cards. If there is more than 1 way to make 15, choose the one combination you like best.

Capturing all of the cards on the table is called a PESCADO. PESCADOs are worth 1pt each at the end of the round.

Once everyone has played their 3 hand cards, 3 more cards are dealt to each player. Continue playing in this way until the deck runs out. The round ends when the deck has run out and all players have played their cards. When that happens, the player who got the last capture gets all the uncaptured cards left on the table.

End of round

Each player scores 1 POINT for each of the following achievements:

- Capturing the 7 of TUNA (blue)

- Capturing more TUNA (blue) cards than all other players.

- Capturing more cards overall than all other players.

- Capturing more 7's than all other players.

- Capturing the "0" (HAMMERHEAD) card - if available

- 1 point for each PESCADO.

If two or more players tie for an achievement, everybody scores that achievement for that round.

Once any player's score totals 12 points for the current and past rounds, the game ends and the player with the highest score wins.

Else, start a new round.
