- When in doubt; build a fence. Estates larger than 6 don't give any points.
- If you're not the first one to finish a plan, consider creating parks (up to 42 points) and pools (up to 36 points).
- Estates whose value has been increased by real estate agents are often worth more than second-place points for a city plan.
- The distribution of numbers is as follows:
- (3) 1s, 2s, 14s, and 15s. (4) 3s and 13s. (5) 4s and 12s. (6) 5s and 11s. (7) 6s and 10s. (8) 7s and 9s. (9) 8s.
- It's easier to work from outside in, i.e. play very high and very low numbers first to leave more opportunity to fill the middle squares
