Kingscraft is a race to become powerful enough to defeat the king/queen. You become more powerful by earning gear and potions by fighting monsters and crafting to refine or combine gear into more powerful items..
Each player starts the game with 2 random level 1 items. You have four item slots, each with a type (boots, armor, helmet, and hands) and not all items are restricted to a particular slot.
Each round, you will indicate the action you wish to take. The actions will resolve in left to right order with speed determining who goes first on the same action. Combat strength breaks ties for order.
Fight the King: You challenge the King to single combat. Take into account any guards in play. Healing: Refill all your hearts. Fight a level 1: You must fight the active level 1 creature. If you defeat the creature, you can take a class 1 item from the forge. You can then forge 1 time (see page 13). Guard: Take a class 1 item from the forge. If someone fights the King this round, the King‘s combat strength is increased by 4. If multiple players play the guard in the same round, the King‘s combat strength is increased multiple times. Fight a level 2: You must fight the active level 2 creature. If you defeat the creature, you can take a class 2 item from the forge. Forging: You can perform up to 2 forging actions. Fight a level 3: You must fight the active level 3 creature. If you defeat the creature, you can take a class 3 item from the forge.
Forging will combine two adjacent items (or a wild card) up the item tree to a higher level item, or you can enhance a level 2/3 item. The enhancement effect can be seen in white text on the card.
Instead of an item, you can get one or more potions that provide temporary effects. A level 2 or 3 reward will earn you 2 or 3 potions.
When fighting, the monster or monarch's damage will reduce your hearts for every 10 damage beyond your armor (rounded up). You lose automatically if you run out of hearts when checking for damage.
Read the card of items and monsters to learn the special rules that they have regarding dice, rerolls, restarts, and bonus damage.
