== Game play ==
In [https://bicyclecards.com/how-to-play/99-ninety-nine/ 99 (addition card game)], counting is at stake as players play cards to the point total which always starts at 0. By playing cards in a strategic manner, players try to keep their points without exceeding the number 99.

When a player plays a card that goes over 99, they lose a point and the round is over. This continues until a player loses all the points and is eliminated.
* Each player starts the game with 3 lives.
* Each round players are dealt 3 new cards and the point total begins at 0.
* Players take turns to play one card from their hand and draw a replacement.
* When a player takes the point total over 99, they lose a life and the round ends.
* The next round begins with the player who lost the previous round, or if eliminated, the following player.

The last player with points remaining wins.

After a card is played towards the point total, the active player draws a new card to add to their hand. The next player in clockwise order must play a card that does not put the total over 99 and draw a new card afterwards.
==End of the Round and End of the Game==
The round ends when a player is busted and loses a point for failing to play a card that keeps the total within 99. After which, players receive a new hand of 3 cards for the next round. The point total sets back to 0 and the next round begins with the player who busted in the last round.
During the game, when a player loses all the points, they are eliminated from the game. The last player with points remaining wins.
