Players divide their hands into 3-card brag hands: 9-card hands are divided into three brag hands, while 13-card hands are divided into four brag hands plus a spare card. Once all players have decided how to divide their hands, play procedes to the scoring phase.

== Scoring ==

The highest-ranking brag hand of each player is exposed, and the player who has the highest of these hands scores one point. (See below for the ranking of brag hands.) In case of a tie, nobody scores the point. Nobody scores the point also in the case that all players have played a hand that is ignored according to the BGA table settings.
