== Setup ==

Each player receives 2 objective cards and must keep one.

== Migration Phase ==

Each player places 2 of their birds in the migration bag.

== Recruit Phase ==

Each player receives 2 of their birds and also draw 2 random birds from the migration bag.

== Perch Phase ==

This is the main phase of the game. Each player takes turn placing exactly one bird on
one of the tiles. Birds must be stacked on top of other birds of the same color. Placing
a bird in a nest counts as one more bird of that color on the tile.

Before or after placing a bird, the player may use a bonus action:
* Place a birdhouse. This counts as one more bird and protects the birds from effects of creatures and zap.
* Zap a bird. Remove a bird from any tile and send them to the fountain.
* Activate a creature. Each creature can only be activated one per Perch Phase.

When all players have placed all their birds, the Perch Phase ends.

== Upkeep Phase ==
* Each location is scored: the player with the most birds scores the first points on the tile, the second most scores the second points, and the third most scores the third points. Ties cancels each other.
* The turn order is then determined: this player with the highest score goes first, the second highest goes second, and so on. In case of a tie, the player with that arrived first at that score is considered first.
* Creature are made available.
* Trigger tiles with upkeep effects.
* Advance the round marker. At the start of the 4th round, players gain a birdhouse. On the 5th round, players gain a zap token. At the end of the 5th round, the game ends.
* If the game has not ended, a new Migration Phase starts.

== End Game Scoring ==
* Birds in the migration bag are send to the plaza.
* Each player reveals their objective card and scores points accordingly.
* The player with the largest flock on a single tile scores 10 points.
* Each controlled tile scores 3 points to their controller.
* Each bird on the fountain scores points according to their height.
* Each bird on the plaza scores 1 point.

The player with the most points wins. In case of a tie, the player with the most birdson a single tile wins.
In case of a tie, the player with the most birds on the fountain wins. If still tied, the players share the victory.

TheAudsMustBeCrazy: /* Tile Placement - fifth line - changed "fished" to "finished" */

===Overview===

Collect unique Flowers and build the most Mushroom Rings of various sizes, whilst selling any Mushrooms you collect along the way

===Turn===

Your turn has 4 steps: Place tiles, resolve tiles, move a Gnome, resolve the Gnome

===Tile Placement===

First, pick two of the 8 available tiles and decide if you also wish to use up to 2 tiles from your personal storage

Each tile must be adjacent to either the stump or another tile already placed

White paths & green edges must match up to other paths/edges if they touch another tile

If your tile would extend another player's ring, you must gain their permission

If two paths are unfinished and each have gnomes on them, they CANNOT be connected

Each tile has a mirror version of itself on both sides, so feel free to flip a tile to get the desired orientation

Once you've placed your two mandatory tiles (& two bonus tiles if desired) check to see if a Ring has been created

A Ring is a connected sequence of white Mushroom Paths with no breaks

Whoever owns the Ring collects all mushrooms on it

If no one owns the Ring, all mushrooms that should have been collected are placed in the middle of the ring for a potential later collection

Whoever owns the Ring, or it is unclaimed the player who completed the ring does the following, takes the leftmost ring Marker from their player board and places it in a slot matching the number of tiles in the Ring. Some of these have multiple spaces, you can choose which to fill and gain the corresponding bonus, if any. If you have already claimed all the spaces for that size, you do NOT get to place a marker. Note: The Stump tile counts as a tile for the quantity in your Ring.

===Resolutions and Bonuses===

Signpost - This lets you either place a new signpost into the Ring you just completed and immediately use its effect, or you can pick a Signpost already out and use its effect without moving it

Tile - Pick a Tile from the market and put it in your Personal Storage, which can hold at most 2, so you will have to discard a stored tile if you now hold 3

Flower - Take a flower as long as you do not posses it and add it to your leftmost open slot for one, you score points for the most unique flowers

Mushroom - The number tells you how many mushrooms you can repick from your Ring, you cannot repick the same mushroom more than once, but can repick the same type if there are multiple in your Ring

Ring Marker - This lets you place two markers instead of the normal 1

Wildflower - This bonus is not depicted on the destination of the Marker but rather based on where it originated from e.g. your 2nd Marker of the game. First, you gain a flower, remember you want unique flowers for your collection. Second, you gain a Wildflower tile to your storage, remembering the limit of 2. Wildflowers have a Mushroom Path all around the perimeter, this makes them ideal for closing Rings, they also have no placement restrictions. When the supply of Wildflower tiles runs out, you still gain the Flower bonus from this. You can only hold a single Wildflower at a time in your storage.

===Gnome Movement===

Moving a Gnome is optional, but you may only activate a Gnome if it has been moved this turn

Claim a Mushroom Path - You can move a Gnome to an unclaimed Mushroom Path, this prevents any other players from claiming it, and when it is finished you gain the rewards as outlined before for completing a Ring. You can also claim a finished Ring that had not already been claimed, this is shown by there being Mushrooms in the middle awaiting collection. Your gnome is NOT stuck on a path, and you may move it off at a later point if you do not want to keep your claim on that path

Flower Market - Any number of Gnomes may reside here from any player, when visited you can take a single unique Flower and add it to your collection

Visit a Signpost- Your Gnome can visit a resolved Ring to take the bonus provided by its Signpost

Pinwheel Market - Moving to the Stump allows you to make up to two sales, if you make two sales in a single visit then each must be of a different Mushroom. For each sale, sell as many mushrooms of a single type as you wish, then place a blocker to block that type and quantity for the rest of the game, e.g. only one player can sell exactly 5 blue mushrooms once. The Pair space NEVER gets a blocker, so two of a mushroom are always available to be sold. Note: Unsold Mushrooms are worthless at game's end

===Game End===

The game can end in 3 ways: A player gets their 8th Flower, a player uses their 8th Ring Marker, the bag of tiles is empty

When this is triggered, finished the current round, then each player gets a bonus Gnome Activation

Flowers - The rightmost flower scores each player that depicted points, the more unique flowers a player holds the more they are worth

Ring Markers - The rightmost empty ring marker space scores for each player, the more ring markers used the more points gained

Mushroom Sales - Total all the treasure gained from mushroom sales (Mushrooms themselves do NOT score)

The player with the most points, wins!

If tied, the player with the most Unsold Mushrooms remaining, wins!

== Overview ==

Your goal is to earn the most points and win the game by building landscapes and creating habitats for your animals.

== On your turn ==

You must choose a set of 3 tokens on the central board and place them onto your board with the following rules:

- It can always be placed on an empty space.

- It can be placed on top of 1 or 2 previously placed tokens to create trees, buildings or mountains (as shown in the rules).

- It cannot be placed underneath other tokens or on top of a cube.

Then you may take an animal card. The card will be placed on top of your board in one of the 4-card slots.

Each animal card has its habitat pattern. You may place a cube from the animal card to fulfill the pattern on the corresponding token. You cannot place more than one cube to a token.

Once the final cube on an animal card has been placed, it will no longer count against your 4-card limit.

== End of the game ==

When there are no tokens left to refill the central board or any player has 2 or fewer empty spaces on their board, finish the round and calculate points.

Trees: A tree is formed by 1 green tokens placed on top of 0/1/2 brown tokens. The scores corresponding are 1/3/7.

Mountains: Only mountains adjacent to another mountain score, for stack made of 1/2/3 gray token, they score 1/3/7.

Fields: Each 2+ contiguous yellow tokens group you get 5 pts.

Building: A building (red token) on top of another token may score 5 if surrounded by at least 3 tokens of different colors (only consider the top of each adjacent place).

Water in side A: score according to the consecutive blue tokens number with the form.

Water in side B: Each island that is separated from each other by blue tokens gives you 5 pts.

Animal cards: For each animal card you will score the number indicated in the topmost space without a cube.

[[Category:Card games]]
== Theme ==

On November 30, 1803, the United States purchased Louisiana from Napoleon. U.S. President Thomas Jefferson decided to send two explorers – Meriwether Lewis and William Clark – to discover this huge terra incognita.

== Overview ==

* Lewis & Clark is a board game in which the players manage an expedition intended to cross the North American continent.
* Their goal is to be the first to reach the Pacific.
* Each one has their own Corps of Discovery that will be completed by the Native Americans and the trappers met during the journey.
* They have to cleverly manage their characters and also the resources they find along the way.
* Beware, sometimes frugality is better than abundance.

== Game play ==

* Lewis & Clark features dual use cards.
* To be activated, one card must be combined with another one, which becomes unavailable for a while.
* Thus, players are faced with a constant dilemma: play a card or sacrifice it.
* During the game, each player acquires character cards that enlarge their hand, building a crew that gives them more options but it needs to be optimised as they will recycle their cards more slowly.
* This new "hand building" mechanism fits strongly with the historical background.
* Since the aim of the game is to be the first on the Pacific coast, the timing and the opportunistic use of the other players' positions are crucial.

RECRUITMENT PHASE - Note:

To recruit a character, you have to pay the fur and equipment cost as shown on their card slot in the row of available cards. The rulebook states: "You can partially or completely pay the required Equipment by discarding one (and only one) card from your hand. Then you save as many Equipment as indicated by the Recruitment Discount on the back of the discarded card."

The 'Recruitment Discount' is the same as the strength of the card. This is important to know because you can't see the back of the card in this online version.

Also note that when you use a character card this way, using its strength in lieu of equipment, that card is gone from your hand. So, when you camp and get your people back, the person won't be there. They ran off into the wilderness.
