# The game is a race, as soon as the second winter card is out, if you are ahead it's often better to try to increase the lead a bit than to prepare for a bigger turn that you might not get to play.
# It is as important to keep cards your opponent wants away from them, as it is to score big points for yourself. Be aware of what your opponents need.
# To do this you can discard those cards when the clearing (enough to get to 10 and clear it) or their hand are full (9 or 10).
# It is often worth your while to wait a turn and gain the right colors, in order to be able to use a card's bonus.
# Moles can overturn games with huge turns, to set it up, make sure you have trees with room and a full hand.
# Free-turn cards can help you clear a seemingly full hand before picking up something an opponent discarded thinking you could not grab.
# The most points that can be achieved in the game is if you get all of the deer and wolves. You do not need to play a deer+wolf strategy to win, but you will lose if you let your opponent have all the deer and wolves.
# Other powerful cards to build a game around:
#* Beech Martins - play them while filling all 4 sides of trees
#* Tree Ferns - Play them with Toads and Salamanders
#* Goshawks - Play them while playing lots of other birds
#* Oaks/Strawberries - Play them while getting all 8 species of tree
#* European Hares - Red Foxes: Generally a less power combination than deer +wolves, but can still get you a number of points if lucky. (Combine with a Silver Fir for more points, and a mole to play the hares quickly)
#* Chestnuts - playing a lot of these is a good, especially if you can all get the orange Roe deer.
#* Sycamores + Red Deer - Play a lot of trees with these
#* The right mushrooms can help boost any of these strategies powerfully.
# Secondary strategies include:
#* Butterflies + Hedgehogs
#* Bats and Dormice
#* Lynxes (compliments 🦌 🐺)
#* Mosses
# Easy to forget Rules
#* The “free play a type of creature” bonus does not trigger additional bonuses or effect.
#* The "Draw card" effect only draws from the deck (not the clearing)
#* A card is added to the clearing when a tree/sapling is played, but not when a split card is played
# There are 8 types of tree in the base game:
#* Sycamore
#* Birch
#* Beech
#* Douglas Fir
#* Oak
#* Horse Chestnut
#* Linden
#* Silver Fir
# The Alpine expansion includes 2 new tree types for a total of 10
#* European Larch
#* Swiss Pine
# The Alpine expansion also makes makes butterfly and bird strategies more viable. Expansion tree colors are a bit more rare and may be confused with some base game ones if colorblind.

Teh burger girl: Tips regarding stacking recipe and hype cards for maximum points and clarifying how chef tokens can be used

Stack recipe cards with hype cards for maximum points. Remember that only one hype card can be used per recipe.

You can only have one chef token at a time, so use it with a recipe when the dice are close to being rerolled (and your chef token would renew anyway).

You must cook a recipe with a die that is altered by a chef token in the same turn. Otherwise, the change on the die will revert, but your chef token will not.

Teh burger girl: Typo

Create the best strawberry patch within a beautiful garden.

==Set Up==

Cards are played from three decks, identifiable by the rear of the card: Sunrise, Noon, and Sunset.

Each deck is shuffled independently and 1 card from the Sunrise deck is dealt to each gardener (player).

Some cards may be discarded before playing, depending on the number of gardeners:

* 2 gardeners - discard 8 cards from each deck;
* 3 gardeners - discard 4 cards from each deck;
* 4 gardeners - no cards are discarded.

The decks are placed in a single pile forming the Main Deck: Sunrise on top, Noon underneath, and Sunset on the bottom.

Place the top card face up to comprise the Sunrise Compost Pile (separate compost piles for Sunrise, Noon and Sunset decks).

Each player starts with one card in play.

==Gameplay==

* Cards can be taken from the deck or the compost pile. If taken from the Main Deck, there is a choice between two cards. The rejected one is placed at the bottom of it's own deck.

* Each feature on the cards counts as a plot

* Cards must be placed vertically, never horizontally. Cards may be turned upside down. At least one currently placed plot must be covered by a new plot. Placed cards can be completely covered if wished.

* A strawberry plant has three sections, roots, flowers and fruit. These must be placed in order to score. A root can sustain multiple plants.

* Cover gravel plots where possible, to avoid losing points

==Game End==

The game finishes when the Main Deck is exhausted

==Scoring==

Complete strawberry plants - 5 points

Water features - 3 points

Pathways - The longest continuous path scores 1 point per plot that it passes through. Only the longest path of each player scores.

Gravel plots lose 2 points each

===Advanced Scoring===

A statue adjacent to a gravel patch +1 for the gravel(not -2) and 1 point for each statue

Water features - 2 extra points for each connected water plot (3 points for one water plot, 5 points for connected water plots). Connected water plots must not have paths between them.

Birdbaths - 3 points for every two birdbaths

Beehives - 3 points for every two beehives
