RueSailmana: /* SETUP */ You get two opportunities to submit an answer

We've received a request to locate gemstones in Orapa Mine, the world’s largest diamond mine. By sending ultrasonic waves deep into the ground and analyzing the signals that return, we can determine the position and condition of the gemstones. Although signals sometimes return abnormally, as experts, we will ultimately find the gemstones—just as we always have.

GOAL OF THE GAME

Be the first player to deduce the exact positions of all of the gemstones.

=== SETUP ===
In the BGA adaptation, there's no quiz master. The puzzle is randomly set-up and shared by all players. The original 2-player rules are not used.

GAMEBOARD

The BGA implementation has 3 sections of note. A gridded map, gemstone overlay pieces, and the game log. The gridded map has identifiers for the left and right side of each row and the top and bottom of each column. As turns progress, these identifiers will be color coded to reflect known information. The gemstone overlay pieces may be dragged onto the gridded area to document the suspected or known orientations of the gemstones as well as empty cells. The 4 corners of the gridded area have tools for saving the gemstone overlay, clearing the gridded area, show/hide gemstone piece overlay, and show/hide gemstone piece overlay controls. The game log will identify the details of the player actions to enable the deduction.

TURN STRUCTURE

On your turn you may do 1 of the following 3 actions:

1) Send Ultrasound Wave

Choose a starting position on the end of the gridded area. The ultrasound wave will be transmitted in a straight line from this spot. The players will be informed of the exit location as well as a color designation which will act as a clue as to which gemstones, if any, the ultrasound wave bounced against.

{| class="wikitable" style="margin:auto" style="border-style: solid; border-width: 20px"
|+ Ultrasound Wave Color Key
|-
! Number of Unique Gemstone Colors !! Gemstone Colors (may occur in any order) !! Ultrasound Wave Result Color
|-
| 0 || n/a || Transparent
|-
| 1 || Blue || Blue
|-
| 1 || Red || Red
|-
| 1 || White || White
|-
| 1 || Yellow || Yellow
|-
| 2 || Blue / Red || Purple
|-
| 2 || Blue / White || Sky Blue
|-
| 2 || Blue / Yellow || Green
|-
| 2 || Red / White || Pink
|-
| 2 || Red / Yellow || Orange
|-
| 2 || White / Yellow || Lemon
|-
| 3 || Blue / Red / White || Light Purple
|-
| 3 || Blue / Red / Yellow || Black
|-
| 3 || Blue / White / Yellow || Light Green
|-
| 3 || Red / White / Yellow || Light Orange
|-
| 4 || Blue / Red / White / Yellow || Gray
|}

If the wave hits multiple instances of the same gemstone color it does not change the result color.

2) Ask About Specific Position

In this instance, the player picks a specific coordinate on the gridded area and is informed what color gemstone occupies that space, if any.

3) Submit Answer

If a player believes to know the exact locations/orientations of all of the gemstones they may overlay the gemstones on the gridded area and submit their answer. If they are correct, they win.

A player can submit an answer two times. After the second incorrect guess they are out of the game.

=== Diamond Expansion ===
Once players are familiar with the game, they may add a transparent gemstone piece for increased difficulty. The transparent gem reflects ultrasound waves like other gemstones but does not change the beam’s color. When the beam hits other gemstones in addition to the transparent one, their colors are determined by the original rules.

=== Blackbody Expansion ===
For expert-level difficulty, players may add a black gemstone piece. The black gemstone absorbs ultrasonic waves and does not reflect them. In this case, the quiz master responds with “The signal was absorbed” rather than providing an exit point or color.

== Goal of the game ==
Be the player with the most prestige points at the end of the game. You get points by validating point giving client cards (placing them under your speakeasy). The game ends once a player reaches 12 prestige points.

== Rules ==
=== Game start ===
Each player start with one speakeasy card and two client cards in front of them. They begin with placing one moon token on an available empty moon token space on their speakeasy card or one of their clients.

=== Game round ===
# '''Roll the dice:'''
The active player rolls the 3 white dice. In addition they roll the blue and/or orange die if they unlocked a blue/orange die bonus. For each arrow icon they unlocked the active player may reroll one or more dice.
# '''Gain moon tokens:'''
All players who have unlocked the corresponding die bonus receive moon tokens for each moon token icon rolled and place these immediately. If you unlock the other colour die by placing a moon token, you may benefit from that one immediately as well of it has been rolled this turn.
# '''Perform 1 action:'''
All players must simultaneously perform 1 of the following actions:
## '''Validate a client card (if possible):'''
If you have the required resources available, you may validate a client by paying the costs and placing the card under your speakeasy so only the bottom of the card is visible. You have to pay the moon token costs with earlier placed moon tokens, which may lead to losing bonuses. You also need to discard any moon tokens that were on the client card you validate, so use those to validate the card if possible.
Then draw cards for each eye icon you have and choose a new card to place in front of you up until you have as many cards as you have plus card icons. Resolve any instant bonuses of the newly placed card(s).
## '''Take a moon token:'''
Take a moon token and place it immediately on an empty moon token space.
## '''Draw cards and optionally replace a card:'''
Draw cards for each eye icon you have. You may choose one of them to replace 1 of the cards you have in front of you.
# '''End of round:'''
If no player has reached 12 prestige points, a new round begins and the next player becomes the active player. If a player reached 12 points, the game ends immediately and the player with the most prestige points wins the game. in case of a draw, the player with the most moon tokens wins.
