For tips on how to play number drop, see Tips_numberdrop

Goal
The goal of Number Drop is to have the most points at the end of game. To do this, players compete by dropping placing numbers and dropping shapes to earn identical or sequenced number combinations.

Summary
* Place numbers and drop shapes to create combinations of identical or consecutive numbers on their grid.
* Be the most efficient and drop penalties onto your opponents!
* As soon as a player reaches the Game Over line, the game ends and whoever has the most points is the winner.
* Will you reach the ultimate score of 100?

Game Play
Each turn, both players receive the same number and shape options. Players decide how to use these options and place them on their board. At the end of the turn, these choices are revealed for other players to see.

There are 4 phases to each turn, with a possible 5th if blocking has been activated:

# Roll the Dice
# Block (if applicable)
# Drop a Shape
# Create (claim) a Combo
# End Turn (score)

Phase 1: Roll the dice
The BGA adaptation of Number Drop will handle this phase for you.

5 dice (4 number dice and 1 shape die) are rolled each turn.

* The shape die has 4 shape options and a star which represents a wild card (you choose your shape).
* The number dice contain numbers 1 - 7, as well as stars (wild). The stars may be used as any number from 1 - 7, as well as 0, 8, or 9.

If blocking was activated in the previous turn AND any of the die reveal a star, phase 2 begins. Otherwise, players proceed to phase 3.

Phase 2: Block others
* A block is a penalty shape that will hinder the opponents.
* Its activation is described in phase 4.
* Phase 2 occurs only if:
** There are active blocks circled but not crossed off AND
** There is at least one star on the dice roll (on any die).
** Otherwise, go to phase 3.
* Check all the circled blocks of all the players.
** If there are several circled blocks, only take into account the one (not crossed off) on the higher line.
*** A, then B, then C...
** The other active blocks will be taken into account the next time there is a star in the dice results.
* All the players that have not circled that block must then drop the corresponding shape on the board into their grid.
** The shape is composed of X's.
** It can be rotated or flipped freely, and it follows the shape placement rules.
* Once the shape is placed, it is circled.
** It cannot be used for combinations but can complete lines.
* Then, all players cross off the penalty block on their score sheets and the tile is removed from the board.
** It cannot be used again.
** Players can still create the matching combinations for scoring purposes.
* The turn is over.
* The player to the left of the first player becomes the new first player and starts a new turn on phase 1.

Phase 3: Drop a shape
* Each player, simultaneously, chooses the way they want to combine the dice (in their head) before writing down the result on their sheet:
** They must use the 4 numerical dice for their value.
** They must use those values by placing them in the shape indicated by the shape die, in any orientation. The shape can be turned and flipped:

** The stars are wilds:
*** on a numerical die, each player can pick any number between 0 and 9.
*** On the shape die, each player can choose the shape they want among the shapes present on the die.

Phase 4: Create a combo
* Every player can create only one combination each turn, starting from the first player.
* There are 3 types of combinations one can create:
** A combo of 3 to 7 identical numbers.
** A combo of 3 to 7 consecutive numbers.
** A bonus combo of either 8 consecutive numbers or 8 identical numbers.
** Combinations are composed of adjacent numbers on the players grid.
*** These numbers must be connected without using diagonals.
*** Numbers already used in other combos (and thus circled) cannot be used again.
*** Consecutive numbers must be in ascending / descending order, with any starting value (not just 1).
** Players can only create one combination during each round:
*** They circle the combination on the grid and on the score track.
*** The value of a combination is equal to the total of numbers used in the combination.
**** e.g. combination of 6 identical numbers is worth 6 points.

Block activation
* If a player creates both combos of the same size (for example 3 consecutive & 3 identical numbers), they can circle the block letter, on the right of the corresponding combinations.
** If it hasn’t been crossed off before.
* That will activate a potential penalty for their opponents.

Phase 5: End the turn
* Each player checks if they completed one or more lines with any number or X's.
** In that case, they can circle the "+2" box at the right end of each line.
** They cannot circle the "+2" box if there is a hole in the line.
* Then each player checks if they have crossed the Game Over line.
** In that case, they circle the "-5" box of each line with at least one number on it.
* The game ends immediately.
* Otherwise, the player to the left of the first player becomes the new first player and a new turn begins at phase 1.

End of the game
* The game ends when one or more players have crossed the Game Over line.
* After the turn ends:
** If a player has managed to fill an entire column of identical or consecutive number combinations, they earn a bonus of 10 points for each of these columns.
** Players add up their points for each of their combinations and their column & line bonuses.
*** Each completed line is worth 2 points.
** The player with the most points is the winner.
* In case of a tie, players share a well-deserved victory!

General
* Keep an eye on other players.
** Try to work out what they are doing and how it might affect you.
** Be mindful if they're getting close to the top (ending the game).
** Try not to fall too far in points, as the other player(s) can simply end the game to win (by reaching the top quickly)
* Score combinations that are no longer accessible over combinations you're still able to add to.
* Don't feel like you need to score a combination as soon as you complete it.
** There will be more turns than combinations you score.
** This can be especially true if you get an early "8" combination. It might be more worth scoring only 7 later on to go for the bonus 10 points over the 8 points.
* Block piece drops may help or hurt the opponent, so it's not worth sacrificing points for.
* If you have fallen behind and fear the other player may end the game, aim for as many points as possible to try beat them if they do take the -5 points and end the game.
* Try not to waste numbers or leave holes when you can avoid it, you end up leaving points on the table.

* Try to focus on one of the commination types (i.e., either on sequences OR identical number), since getting all lengths of that type will gain you the extra 10 point bonus.
* If you get enough of a lead in points, consider simply ending the game by building quickly to the top.
** You will lose 5 points, but that may be worth it if you're far enough ahead.
* Build towards the top in at least one spot, so that if you do want to end the game quickly, you're ready.
* Sequences are typically easier to achieve than identical numbers, purely because it is unlikely for a roll to give you many identical numbers.
* Don't score the 8 point combination unless you are sure you don't need those numbers for other combinations that will help get the bonus.
* If you are going to end the game, double check that you opponent(s) can't get enough points to catch you in the next turn.

OVERVIEW
----
Roll to the Top: Journeys is a roll and write game. Dice rolls determine the numbers available to play with and you decide which ones to place on your board and where to place them. The goal is to be the first to fill all the spaces on your board.

THE DICE
----
There are 5 number dice and one action die. Each turn, the Action Die and anywhere from one (1) to five (5) number dice are rolled. Players take turns deciding which die to add or remove for the following turn’s roll, based on the results of the Action Die.

Action Die
The Action Die is rolled along with the number die or dice and results in the active player taking one of three possible actions: add a die to the active pool, remove a die from the active pool, or swap an inactive die with an active one.

It is a six-sided die with 2 opportunities to roll the + (add), 2 opportunities to roll the – (remove), one opportunity to swap (indicated by the blue arrows pointing in opposite directions), and one opportunity for +/- which allows the active player to choose whether to add or remove a die.

There are three scenarios where the action is already determined, regardless of the action die. These are:
* If all 5 dice are already in the active pool, the active player must remove a die.
* If only one die is in play, the active player must add one.
* If no player writes a number on their board, the active player must add a die.
* If none of these three scenarios apply, the active player will take the direction indicated by the result of the rolled action die.

Number Dice
There are 5 dice, each with different number values, as follows:
* d4 (4-sided die) with the numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4
* d6 (6-sided die) with the numbers 1,2,3,4,5, and 6
* d8 (8-sided die) with numbers 1 through 8
* d12 (12-sided die) with numbers 1 through 12
* d20 (20-sided die) with numbers 1 through 20

GAME PLAY
----
Each turn, the active dice are rolled and all players, simultaneously, use the numbers to fill spaces on their board.

Players can use some, all, or none of the numbers rolled each turned.
Numbers can be added to create larger numbers, but no number can be used more than once.

Example: The dice roll results in a 2, 5, and 5. Players can place each separately on their board, or they can place 2 and 10 or 5 and 7. They would not be able to place a 2, 5, and 7.

Once all players have chosen and placed their numbers, the active player (the one who hold the action die) makes their choice to add, remove, or swap dice based on the instructions of the action die and the rules above. Then the dice are rolled and a new turn starts.

Filling Spaces with Numbers
When placing numbers on the board, players must follow these rules:
* Each box can contain a single number
* Dice results can be used on their own or added together to make greater numbers
* Each dice can only be used once, regardless of if it’s used on its own or combined with others
* You don't have to use all of the numbers if you don't want to, and can even choose not to play any of the rolled numbers

Placement Restrictions
Boxes with dots in their lower right corner can contain any number. All other boxes have the following restrictions:
* You can only fill a space when the box(es) supporting it below have a number in them.
* Players can only place numbers which are greater than or equal to the number(s) below it.
* Spaces that don’t sit on any other space, are considered hanging spaces. Hanging can contain any number, similar to the starting spaces with dots. The difference is that since spaces don’t sit on others, they can’t be filled until an adjacent space to its right or left is filled.

GAME END
----
The games ends when one or more players fill every space on their board. The winner is determined when the turn is over, so if more than one player fills their board in the same turn the result is a tie.

The Game of Kalah
Kalah, also sometimes referred to as Kalahan or Mancala, is a game where players compete to capture more stones (or seeds) than the opponent. Kalah is an adaptation of the ancient game Mancala, from where it gained it's name.

Equipment and Set Up
Kalah is played on a board with two rows consisting of six round holes and a large store at either end called Kalah.

A player controls the six holes closest to them and the Kalah on their right side.

The board is set up with the same number of stones in each round hole. The Kalah is empty at the start of the game.

Beginners may want to start with three stones in each hole, but the game becomes more and more challenging by starting with 4, 5 or up to 6 stones in each hole. Traditionally the game play is most associated with 4 stones.

Overview
The object of the game is to have more stones in your Kalah than your opponent does.

At the beginning of the game, the selected number of stones are in each hole (3 to 6). Each hole has the same number.

Once a player captures a stone in their Kalah, it it remains there for the rest of the game. There are three ways to put stones in your Kalah:

1) A player gets stones by placing during a turn one at a time around the board. When the player reaches their Kalah, one stone is placed in it, and if stones remain they continue to the opponents side of the board.

2) Stones are captured by landing in your own empty hold when your opponent has stones in the opposite hole. Stones from both holes are transferred to your Kalah.

3) When a player has no stones on their side of the board and it is their turn to play, the game is over and all remaining stones go to the other player's Kalah.

This BGA game will end when more than 50% of all stones are in a single player's Kalah (19 stones in a game starting with 3 stones per hole, 25 when starting with 4 stones per hole, 30 when starting with 5 stones, and 37 when starting with 6).

During Your Turn
Play is always counterclockwise. On a turn, the player chooses any of the occupied holes on their side of the board and removes all stones.

Moving counter-clockwise, the player drops one stone in each hole, including the player's Kalah, until all stones are placed. Players may not skip a hole or their own Kalah, but do not place a stone in the opponent's Kalah.

The player's turn is over when they drop their last stone into an opponent's hole or one of their own occupied holes.

If the last stone is dropped into the player's Kalah, they must move again.

If the last stone is dropped into an empty hole owned by the player, they capture all stones of the opposite hole together with the capturing stone and put them in their Kalah.

If the opposite hole is empty, nothing is captured, and the players turn is over.

Ending the Game
There are two ways to end the game in Kalah:
