Check your row (do not change the order or rotate any cards) to calculate your points.

For easier scoring count points for each player in this order: Bannerfish, Pufferfish, Octopus, minus points for Anchor Cards, Corals.

Each type of card scores differently. All your face-down cards score 0 and remain in place as separators. You also score Anchor cards. Minus points will be deducted later.

Bannerfish want to gather: a group consists of 2 to 4+ adjacent Banner-fish, no other face-up or face-down cards between them:
• 1 Bannerfish: 0 points
• 2 Bannerfish: 2 points
• 3 Bannerfish: 5 points
• 4+ Bannerfish: 9 points

Pufferfish prefer to be alone: a Puffer-fish with no fish adjacent scores 3 points. If adjacent to any other fish: 1 point. If it is between 2 fish: 0 points.Pufferfish dislikes having Bannerfish or another Pufferfish next to them, but face-down cards, Corals, and Octopuses don’t bother them

Octopus want to hide in the Corals: an Octopus between 2 Corals of any color: 4 points. If adjacent to only 1 Coral: 2 points. If not next to any Corals: 0 points

Corals like variety: check all your Coral cards and count how many complete sets of pink + green + yellow you have, regardless of their position. Each set of 3 different Coral colors: 3 points. Example: Paul has 2 pink, 3 green and 4 yellow Corals. That’s 2 complete sets = 6 points

Anchor cards (anchor side up): Now, count how many Anchor cards you have. Each Anchor card scores minus points. If you have several, add up all the minus points per card, regardless of their position:
1st card: -1 point | 2nd card: -2 points
3rd card: -3 points | 4th card: -4 points
5th card: -5 points and so on...

===Overview===

Play cards to your area in order to earn points. When a player has 25 victory points (VPs), the current round finishes and then whoever has the most VPs (including end game scoring) wins!

===Round===

The round is split into five phases, each of which is completed by every player before moving to the next, the phases are:

* Lookout phase
* Production phase
* Action phase
* Check for game end
* Cleanup phase
===Lookout Phase===

First, reveal n+1 cards, where n is the number of players, e.g., 4 cards in a 3-player game.

After which, players take turns taking a new card in clockwise order.

After each player has taken 1 card, discard remaining cards.

Then draw n+1 cards, and now starting with the last player and proceeding counter-clockwise, each player will take a card.

After each player has taken 1 card again, discard the remaining cards.
===Production Phase===

First, gain resources according to your faction board. Usually this includes 3 workers, 1 resource, 1 connection token, and 1 card.

Second, each deal provides the good depicted on the card.

Third, each production location produces goods (including open production cards).
===Action===

In clockwise order, each player takes a single action or passes until all players pass.

If you pass then you cannot take additional actions, your locations cannot be razed or interacted with in any other way, e.g., use open production locations.

The actions are:

'''Construct a location'''

Build a location by spending the number of gray connection tokens equal to the card's Distance value. Earn any building bonuses and if building a production location (including open production locations), take the goods from the supply.

'''Develop a location'''

Build a location on top of an existing location by spending a brick and removing the old location. You earn 1 VP after developing. The new location must have at least 1 matching symbol with the old location. Ruins can be built over with any type. Earn any building bonuses and if building a production location (including open production locations), take the goods from the supply.

'''Make a deal'''

Spend the number of blue connection tokens equal to the card's Distance value, and then turn the card upside down to show its Deal value.

'''Raze location from your hand'''

Discard a card and spend the number of red connection tokens equal to the card's Distance value. Take the goods shown in the spoils field.

'''Raze opponent's location'''

Spend the number of red connection tokens equal to the location's defense value (3 for production, 4 for feature, 5 for action). Take the goods shown in the spoils field. The location's owner takes the good in the Deal field and turns the location upside down to indicate that location is now a Ruin.

'''Use an action from a location'''

Spend the goods to perform the card action and keep the goods on the card to remember you used it this round, as each action can only be used once per round.

'''Use an action from your faction board'''

Spend the goods to perform the faction action and keep the goods on the faction board to remember you used it this round, as each action can only be used once per round.

'''Use another player's open production location'''

Spend a worker to earn the good on the opponent's open production location. The opponent takes a worker from the supply. You cannot send a worker to your own open production location. Each open production location can only be used once per round.

'''Take a connection card'''

Spend 2 workers to take a face-up connection card.

'''Play a connection card'''

Play a connection card and earn the goods on it.

'''Place a shield token on a location (free action)'''

Place a shield token on a location to increase its defense value by 1. Each location can only have 1 shield token.

'''Pass'''

Pass for the round and do not take anymore actions.

===Check for Game End===

If one player has 25 VPs or more, do not go to the Cleanup Phase, and instead calculate the final score for each player.
===Cleanup Phase===
You can use the storage ability on any locations to save goods.

All other goods (resources, workers, contact tokens, shields) in your personal supply and on your cards are returned to the general supply.

Beside stored goods, you can only keep cards in between rounds.

Discard all face-up connection cards.

Pass the first player token to the left and start a new round.

===End Game Scoring===

Each player adds 1 VP per location (but 0 VP per Ruin) to their current score.

In the case of a tie, use the following tie breakers in order:

* The player with the most total goods
* The player with the most locations
* If still tied, share the victory

Play cards to your area in order to earn points. When a player has 25 victory points (VPs), the current round finishes and then whoever has the most VPs (including end game scoring) wins!

===Round===

The round is split into five phases, each of which is completed by every player before moving to the next, the phases are:

* Lookout phase
* Production phase
* Action phase
* Check for game end
* Cleanup phase
===Lookout Phase===

===Production Phase===

First, gain resources according to your faction board. Usually this includes 3 workers, 1 resource, 1 connection token, and 1 card.

Second, each deal provides the good depicted on the card.

Third, each production location produces goods (including open production cards).
===Action===

In clockwise order, each player takes a single action or passes until all players pass.

If you pass then you cannot take additional actions, your locations cannot be razed or interacted with in any other way, e.g., use open production locations.

The actions are:

* Construct a location: Build a location by spending the number of gray connection tokens equal to the card's Distance value. Earn any building bonuses and if building a production location (including open production locations), take the goods from the supply.
* Develop a location: Build a location on top of an existing location by spending a brick and removing the old location. You earn 1 VP after developing. The new location must have at least 1 matching symbol with the old location. Ruins can be built over with any type. Earn any building bonuses and if building a production location (including open production locations), take the goods from the supply.
* Make a deal: Spend the number of blue connection tokens equal to the card's Distance value, and then turn the card upside down to show its Deal value.
* Raze location from your hand: Discard a card and spend the number of red connection tokens equal to the card's Distance value. Take the goods shown in the spoils field.
* Raze opponent's location: Spend the number of red connection tokens equal to the location's defense value (3 for production, 4 for feature, 5 for action). Take the goods shown in the spoils field. The location's owner takes the good in the Deal field and turns the location upside down to indicate that location is now a Ruin.
* Use an action from a location: Spend the goods to perform the card action and keep the goods on the card to remember you used it this round, as each action can only be used once per round.
* Use an action from your faction board: Spend the goods to perform the faction action and keep the goods on the faction board to remember you used it this round, as each action can only be used once per round.
* Use another player's open production location: Spend a worker to earn the good on the opponent's open production location. The opponent takes a worker from the supply. You cannot send a worker to your own open production location. Each open production location can only be used once per round.
* Take a connection card: Spend 2 workers to take a face-up connection card.
'''Take'''

Take the top card from the faceup discard pile and perform the Exchange action with your village (see "Exchange"), as the new card was from the faceup discard pile it will go faceup in your village

'''Call'''

This option is only available if you have 4 or less cards in your village

Each other player then gets a bonus turn in which they can either Draw or Take

After which, round end and scoring occurs
==Exchange Cards==

If you wish to exchange a single card, put the card from your village faceup on the discard pile, and the exchanged card into your village in the identical space facedown (draw deck) or faceup (discard pile) based on where it came from

If you wish to exchange multiple cards, this will only be done successfully if they all share the same value e.g. all 6s

You do not have to exchange all of the same value at the same time if you do not wish to or are unaware of them e.g. you may have 4 6s but only wish to exchange 3 of them

Regardless of whether cards are faceup or facedown, they can be equally chosen and in a mixture of your desire, e.g. 2 facedown and 1 faceup

Slide all the cards you intend to use in the exchange halfway up towards the middle of the table whilst retaining their place in your village

Any that were facedown at this point are now flipped faceup for the analysis

If the analysis shows that you were correct (all are the same value) all the exchanged cards go faceup in the discard, the new card is added into one of the previous spaces as you prefer and in the same orientation as was received (facedown draw / faceup discard)

However, if the analysis shows that you were incorrect (at least 1 card does NOT match the others), return them to the village and flip them all facedown (regardless of how they were before the reveal), the new card obtained will be added to the far right or far left of your village as you prefer, as usual the orientation will be based on where it was from (facedown draw / faceup discard)

Furthermore, if the analysis shows that you had a critical failure (a minimum of 3 non-identical cards), after resolving the normal outcome of being incorrect, take an additional card from the deck and place it face down on the far right or far left of your village as you prefer
==Round End ==

As previously mentioned, the round end is triggered when a player takes the Call action, but it can also be triggered if the deck is depleted

Everyone reveals their cards and adds up the values displayed on them

The non-Callers score the sum of the values in their village

The Caller has 2 scoring options, if they had the lowest or tied lowest score then they score 0 instead of their normal score, if this is not the case then they score 10 + their normal score

Keep a note of each player's score for the round

If the caller scored the fewest, or tied fewest, points then they take the Amulet which they can use at any point during their turn to protect a card from being viewed or tampered with by other players, however it cannot be placed on a turn they take the Call action

The new start player will be the player with the lowest score that round
==Game End==

The game ends when 4 rounds are completed

The player with the fewest points wins!

If tied, either the tied player with the Amulet wins, or the player closest to the Amulet player clockwise wins!

Kuzai: Minor change later -> latter

== Story ==
Look, this is a trick taking game featuring cards with numbers. There's not really a lot of theme here. But you've got to admit the name is pretty fun to say. Anyway, let's get to the game.

== Components ==
60 creature cards (6 suits, ranked 1-10) and 9 Anemone cards

== Setup (3-6 players) ==
Choose one suit per player. Put any remaining cards back in the box. Shuffle the deck together and deal 10 cards to each player. Set the 9 Anemone cards within reach. The player who is reading these rules is the start player.

(At 6p, remove the 1s and 10s from each suit and deal 8 to each player.)

== Game Play ==
The start player plays one card face up in front of them. Every other player in clockwise order must play a card face up in front of themself in a suit that has not yet been played into the trick. If a player cannot play a suit that has not been played, they discard a card from their hand into their score pile. The highest card played wins the trick and takes all cards played into their score pile. The lowest card played takes an Anemone card, which can be added to a card in a future trick to increase its value by 1 (multiple Anemone cards may be added at once). If there is a tie for the highest or lowest value, the latter played breaks the tie.

At the end of the hand, once all cards have been played, players score one point per card taken. The 3s, 5s, and 8s of each suit are worth an extra point.

The player who has the lowest score at the end of the hand gains one +1 Anemone card. All Anemone cards carry over to the next hand.
The Anemone cards are +1 on one side and +2 on the other. If you have a +1 and would take another, flip it instead. It now has to be played as a +2. In a 6 player game, the lowest takes a +2 and the second lowest takes a +1. If they ever run out and a player should take one, the player with the most Anemone cards must give that player one of theirs.

The player with the highest score starts the next round. Play 4 rounds and the highest score wins! In case of a tie, the player with more Anemones remaining wins.

== 2 Player Variant ==
Use 4 suits. Remove the 1s and 10s. Shuffle and deal 8 cards to each player and place the remaining cards in a central deck.

Players take turns playing one card each into the trick until 4 cards have been played. All other rules apply, with each card needing to be a different suit.

Both players draw 2 cards into their hands before playing the next trick, until the deck is empty. If there are no cards to draw, skip that step and continue playing out the rest of the hand.

Kuzai: Minor fixes to various sub-header section titles

== Turn Structure ==
Each round of the game represents one generation of development and colonization on Mars. At the start of each round, the first player token moves to the next player.

In every generation players perform the following steps:

'''1) Research:''' draw four cards and add any number of them into your hand. Pay 3 M€ for each one added and discard the rest. There is no hand limit.

'''2) Actions:''' take 1-2 actions from the list below or pass. If you pass, you will not play again for the rest of the round. Continue in turn order until all players have passed. (Note that, during another player's turn in BGA, you can indicate that you will be passing on your next turn by pressing the Advanced Pass button in the 'current activity' box at the top of the page. This allows you to go off and do other things without holding up the game. There is a Confirm button!)

1) Play a card from your hand

2) Use a standard project

3) Claim a milestone (total of 3 times per game between all players)

4) Fund an award (total of 3 times per game between all players)

5) Use an action on a blue card (each blue card may be used once per generation)

6) Convert 8 plants into a greenery tile (increasing the oxygen level and your Terraform Rating)

7) Convert 8 heat into a temperature increase (increasing your Terraform Rating)

'''3) Production:''' first convert all unspent energy into heat, then all players simultaneously produce resources and M€ according to their production values. Players also get M€ equal to their Terraform Rating. (Note that M€ production values may be negative.

==== Playing Cards ====
Some cards have requirements in order to play them, such as:

- Global parameters (oceans, oxygen, temperature) must be above or below a certain level

- You must have enough tags of a given type already in play (like Science)

- You must be able to produce a specific resource (like Titanium)

Cards have a base cost which must be paid in M€. This cost can be reduced by other card effects. You can also spend resources in lieu of M€ if the card has certain tags:

'''1 Steel = 2 M€''' to pay for any '''Building''' card (brown building icon)

'''1 Titanium = 3 M€''' to pay for any '''Space''' card (gold sunburst icon)

Carry out all of the card's effects, gain resources, and increase/decrease production values as directed. If a change to a production value is indicated with a red border, you can choose to apply it to another player or to no one at all. (These are usually negative effects.)

After you play the card, it moves to one of three areas on your board depending on their color. You can change how these areas are arranged by clicking on the "three bars" icon in the header.

'''- Red cards''' have no further effects and are automatically hidden. They do not contribute tags to your overall totals but may be worth points at the end of the game.

'''- Green cards''' have no further effects, but remain in play to contribute their tags. They may be worth points at the end of the game.

'''- Blue cards''' have either an ongoing passive effect or an action you can take on your turn. BGA sorts them into two piles for your convenience.

==== Standard Projects ====
You always have the following options on your turn regardless of what's in your hand or on your board. Don't forget them! Each standard project takes one action on your turn.

Note that you can also raise temperature or place greenery by spending heat or plants instead of M€.

'''Sell patents:''' discard any number of cards and gain that many M€.

'''Power plant (11 M€):''' increase Energy production one step.

'''Asteroid (14 M€):''' increase temperature one step (and gain one TR).

'''Aquifer (18 M€):''' place an ocean tile (and gain one TR). Note that oceans don't belong to the player who placed them, unlike other tiles.

'''Greenery (23 M€):''' place a greenery tile (raising the oxygen level and gaining one TR). If possible you must place it next to a tile you already own.

'''City (25 M€):''' place a city tile and gain one M€ production. Cities may not be placed adjacent to each other. (Exception: Noctis City may be placed into its reserved spot even if there is already an adjacent city there.)

If you place a tile, remember to gain any placement bonuses depicted in the space you cover up!

==== Milestones and Awards ====
Milestones and awards place you in direct competition with other players. With milestones you race to be the first to meet a certain condition; with awards you compete to have the most in a specific category at the end of the game.

===== Milestones =====
As an action, you may pay 8 M€ and claim a '''milestone''' if you meet its requirements. It is worth 5 VP at the end of the game. Only three milestones may be claimed per game.

* '''Terraformer:''' have 35+ Terraform Rating (TR)
* '''Mayor:''' own 3+ cities
* '''Gardener:''' own 3+ greenery tiles
* '''Builder:''' have 8+ building tags in play
* '''Planner:''' have 16+ cards currently in hand

===== Awards =====
As an action, you may pay some amount of M€ and fund an '''award'''. The first award funded costs 8 M€, the next costs 14 M€, and the last costs 20 M€. Only three awards may be funded per game. At the end of the game, check each funded award. The first and second place player in each category score VP (see Game End section). The player who funded the award receives no special consideration.

* '''Landlord:''' most tiles in play of any type(s)
* '''Banker:''' highest M€ production
* '''Scientist:''' most science tags in play
* '''Thermalist:''' most unspent heat resource cubes
* '''Miner:''' most unspent steel and titanium resource cubes (combined)

== Game End ==
Game ends when there is enough oxygen to breathe (14%), oceans enough to allow Earth-like weather (9 aquifers), and the temperature is well above freezing (+8˚C). Play continues to the end of the current generation and then players have one final turn to convert extra plants into one or more greenery tiles.

The winner is the player with most VPs at the end of the game. VPs come from:

* '''Terraform Rating (TR).''' Each time you raise a global parameter (oceans, oxygen, temperature) your TR increases. Score VPs equal to your TR at the end of the game.
* '''Greenery.''' Score 1 VP for each greenery tile you own.
* '''Cities.''' Each city scores 1 VP for each greenery tile adjacent to a city you own, regardless of who owns the greenery. The capital city card also scores 1 VP for each adjacent ocean.
* '''Awards (must be funded).''' 5 VPs to the winner, 2 VPs to second place. If players tie for first, they all get the bonus and no second place is awarded. If multiple players tie for second, they all get the bonus. In a two player game, no second place is awarded.
* '''Claimed milestones.''' Each claimed milestone is worth 5 VPs at the end of the game. Only 3 of the 5 milestones may be claimed.
* '''VPs on played cards.''' First, count all VPs on cards that collect resources. Then gather all of your remaining cards (including all your played events!) and count your VPs. If you have Jovian cards, these may have to be counted separately. (To identify this look for the number, or an effect like X VP / Y number of resources, marked inside the planet Mars Icon)

== Common rules misinterpretations ==

If you trying to submit a bug report about possible rules violation please note that at this point it is very unlikely to be a real issue or unique.

Your bug report will be closed automatically unless you provide EVIDENCE in the report itself - which is either text of game log with move number (using Copy Log button) or screenshot.

These are common cases of rules misinterpretation (below are the rules!):
* Event tags are not counted. Only reason they are there to give you discounts or when played effects from other cards.
* No more then 3 milestones can be claimed (out of 5)
* No milestone can be claimed in solo game
* Placing forest after last generation does not increase oxygen (especially in Solo game even it is not maxed out)
* Some cards effects violate the common rules - please READ the text on the card before submitting bug about specific card
* Production reduction is MANDATORY
* Removing resources to activate card is MANDATORY (i.e. Ants)
* Removing animals/microbes is not possible from PETs or when your opponent has Protected Habitats in play
* You can do some action which seems to be unreasonable (such as spending 8 heat when temperature is at max). This move is allowed by the rules and can be legally played as a stalling technique.

== Digital adaptation ==
=== Interface ===
Interface should be self explanatory for most part.
* You only can do action that you are allowed to do. If you THINK you can do something and there is no button, see section about "Common rules misinterpretations" above. Same as if you think you did something that you should not have.
* You can do a game action either by using a toolbar button or by clicking game element which is highlighted. If there are more than 7 buttons - buttons no longer shown (but if you really want them there is button "Where are my buttons")
* When multiple effects are in play you have to choose order, if you don't want to choose there is button Whatever to chose random order
* When you get too many cards you can play with card layout option using hamburder menu near card pile. Even when card stacked you always see them by clicking on any card - it will show whole pile in popup. The layout is store per player color per table. If you like to change default layout use Setting panel to store current layout as default.
* There is sorting option for cards (button near Hand panel), which has few modes: By Cost, By Playability, By Vp, Manual and None. Be careful when you set to auto-sort - card order may change as you get them and you click or something you not except to be there. Manual mode is drag and drop
=== Settings ===
The game is very complex and there is no size that fits all. So we provide customizations. Settings are accessible via Gear icon on the top right.

There are 2 categories:
* Preferences - these remembered in your account and go with you everywhere
* Local settings - these are browser settings, they saved for per player, per theme and for this browser only.

==== Preference - Theme ====

For people who like to see game as it was designed by game designed we provide Cardboard theme. It has exact board, player board and printed cards (with english text). Also there are resource cubes for extra giggles.

==== Preference - Live Scoring ====

Live scoring is ability of UI show you preview of VP as you would have ended game now. Because its controversial subject it exists as both game option and user preference.
If table creator set the option to Disabled, nobody at the table can see live scoring, regardless of their preferences and feelings.
Otherwise its a personal choice - you can use Preference of Show or Hide.
Unless you play with Live scoring disabled you can always peek to see current scoring table using show Scoring button or clicking of scoring control (the number of point on players mini panel)

==== Local Settings - Animation ====

If you fast player you may want to reduce amount and time of animation using settings. Also Carboard theme is slightly faster because it does less animations in general.

=== Limitations of digital adaptation ===

* Cannot choose order of come into play effects of project cards (with some exceptions)
* When order of effect chosen - cannot Draw cards before resolving other complex effects
* Cannot undo single action (Undo will undo 2 actions or until after last Draw)
* You cannot undo when you are the last player to take an action in multiplayer state (i.e. setup, draft, research)

== Solo Game ==
The solo version always uses the Corporate Era setup; include all the Corporate Era cards and start without any production, except for what your corporation may give you.

All rules apply as usual with these exceptions:
* Before you choose your cards, place 2 neutral city tiles on the map with an adjacent greenery tile each (these tiles are not yours, and do not increase the oxygen level): one is placed in the top left, and one in the bottom right. Special case: If you choose to play Tharsis Republic this game, you get M€ production for the 2 neutral cities even though they are placed before you reveal your corporation.

* Start with a terraform rating of 14 instead of 20 (marked ’solo’ on the track) and without the extra production of resources described for the standard game.

* Awards and Milestones are not used.

* You have a neutral opponent that you can steal from, or reduce any kind of resources and production from.

* You always play 14 generations (marked ’solo’). In order to win, you need to complete terraforming (i.e making the three global parameters reach their goal) before the end of generation 14. After generation 14, you may convert plants into greenery tiles, following normal rules but without raising the oxygen, and finally you score VPs to get as high a score as possible.

== Overview ==

Your Village is a mix of characters who you may or may not know, but you want to try to have the lowest valued characters by the end of each round

== Setup ==

As part of setup, you can view any two of the facedown cards in front of you, this is also true for each new round going forward

== Turn ==

On your turn, choose between Draw, Take, or Call

=== Draw ===

First, draw the top card from the deck, then you have two options

You can place it into the discard pile, if it has the discard icon on it then you can also perform the related ability

Alternatively, you can Exchange it with cards in your village (see "Exchange"), as the new card was from the facedown deck it will go facedown in your village

=== Take ===

Take the top card from the faceup discard pile and perform the Exchange action with your village (see "Exchange"), as the new card was from the faceup discard pile it will go faceup in your village

=== Call ===

This option is only available if you have 4 or less cards in your village

Each other player then gets a bonus turn in which they can either Draw or Take

After which, round end and scoring occurs

== Exchange Cards ==

== Round End ==

== Game End ==

The game ends when 4 rounds are completed

The player with the fewest points wins!

If tied, either the tied player with the Amulet wins, or the player closest to the Amulet player clockwise wins!

==The Phases of a Round==
===1 - Exploration Phase===
====A- Draft Cards====

Look at the cards in your Hand and choose 2 that you will play.

Put them face-down in front of you. Place the rest of your cards face-down in front of your neighbor. They will take them after the Play Cards Step.

During rounds 1 and 3: pass the cards to the player on your left.
During rounds 2 and 4: pass the cards to the player on your right.

====B- Play Cards====

Play the 2 cards you chose in the first step.

• If you play a Parchment card, place it face-down in front of you without revealing it. You can look at your Parchment cards at any time. They will be revealed after the 4th Round (at the End of the Game).
Note: The number of Parchment cards you have is public information.

• If you play a Territory card, place one of your Rabbits on the Territory shown on your card (it will have the same coordinates).
You control this Territory from now on.
Put the Territory card in your discard pile.
Note: If the Territory is already occupied by an opponent’s Camp, remove their Rabbit and the Camp token before placing your own Rabbit. Your opponent loses control of the Territory. If the Territory is occupied by one of your own Camps, remove the Camp token. This Territory can now hold a different Building.

====A Fief====

A Fief is a group of connected Territories under one player’s control. Territories are connected if they meet on the sides (top, bottom, left, or right—not diagonally), unless they are separated by a Lava Flow.

• If you play a Building card, place it face-up in front of you and put the City or token shown (Farm, Sky Tower, or Camp) on it.

You can place your Buildings on the New World board during the Construction Phase. Buildings let you improve your Fiefs to make them more valuable. After placing a Building, discard the associated card.

• When you play a Provisions card, immediately draw and play two cards from the deck. Put your Provisions card in your discard pile.

You can now look at the cards your neighbor passed to you (if there are any). Repeat these two steps (Draft and Play) until all the hand cards have been played (for example, a total of five times in a 4-player game). After the last cards are played, begin the Construction Phase.

===Special Rules for 2 Player Games===
• Each round, both players take 10 cards into their hand and place 10 cards facedown in front of them without looking at them. These cards are their Reserves.

====A- Draft Cards====
Each time, before choosing cards to play, draw 1 card from your Reserve and add it to your Hand.

Then, instead of choosing 2 cards to play, choose 1 card that you will play and 1 that you will discard (face-down). Pass the other cards to your opponent face-down.

The Play Cards Step plays normally.

===2 - Construction Phase===

During this phase, you can place your Buildings on the New World board by following the conditions below. Buildings increase the Strength, Wealth, or size of your Fiefs. You are never required to place a Building. You can leave them in front of you to place later.

• You can only place your Buildings on Territories you control, except for Camps which can only be placed on empty Territories.

• You must respect any Building Requirements of your Buildings. Luxury Resource Farms and Strength 3 Cities can only be placed on certain types of Territories, as indicated by the symbol on the card and the background color of the token.

• A Building cannot be moved once it has been placed on the board.

• There can never be more than one Building (City or token) on a Territory.

• If you place a Building on a Territory that already produces a basic Resource it continues to produce that Resource in addition to the effect of the Building.

====Effects of Buildings====
• Strength 1, 2, and 3 Cities increase the Strength of your Fief by 1, 2, or 3 respectively.

• Farms increase the Wealth of your Fief.

• Sky Towers connect two of your Territories in different Fiefs as if they were adjacent. These Territories and any Territories that are connected to them are now part of the same Fief.

• Camps let you take control of any empty Territory (without a Rabbit or a Building) on the board. Each Camp has a priority number (shown on the card). If you want to place a Camp, you must announce its priority number without announcing which Territory you want to play it on. Any player who has a Camp with a lower priority number can interrupt you and play their Camp before you (starting with whoever has the lowest priority number). After they play their Camp (or pass), you can either play yours or pass and save your Camp for a future Round. When you play a Camp, place one of your Rabbits on it to show that you control that Camp. If an opponent plays a Territory card that corresponds to one of your Camps, remove the Camp and replace your Rabbit with one of your opponent’s. If you played this card, simply remove the Camp. You may play a new Building on this Territory from now on.

===3 - Harvest Phase===

During this phase, players harvest from all their Fiefs.

Remember: A Fief is a Territory or group of connected Territories that you control. Territories are connected on their sides (not diagonally).
All of the connected Territories in a Fief share their Resources and Cities.

Important: A Fief only provides Golden Carrots if it has at least one City and one Resource.

====Calculate the Golden Carrots collected from a Fief====

During each Harvest Phase, every one of your Fiefs gives you:

Golden Carrots from a Fief = Strength x Wealth

====Determining the Strength of a Fief====

The Strength of a Fief is the total of all of the Towers in its Cities.

A Strength 1 City has one Tower, a Strength 2 City has two, and a Strength 3 City has three.
====Determining the Wealth of a Fief====

The Wealth of a Fief is equal to the number of **different** Resources it produces.

If you have just finished the 4th Round, it is the End of the Game. All players
reveal their Parchment cards and it’s time for the final scoring!

Once the Harvest Phase is complete, begin a new Round. Deal 10 or 12 new cards
to each player, depending on the number of players.

==Revealing Parchments and the End of the Game==

At the end of the game, it’s time to reveal your Parchments! One at a time, each player reveals their cards and checks to see if they have fulfilled the requirements of their Missions.
Treasures automatically give Golden Carrots, while gaining through Missions depends on your Territories, Fiefs, Buildings, or even other Parchment cards.

The player with the most wins the game and the honorific title of “Big Ears” until the next game!

In case of a tie, the players share the victory.

===Notes on the Missions===

====Scoring Resources====

Several Missions refer to the Resources you produce (for example, the Carpenter gives 1 for each Wood you produce). Unlike Fiefs, these cards actually count “all Resources,” even if two or more identical Resources are produced by the same Fief, and including any produced by Farms.

Important: At the end of the game, Trading Posts produce the same Resource they produced at the end of Round 4. You cannot choose one Resource while calculating a Fief’s Wealth during the last Round, then choose a different Resource to fulfill a Mission.

Reminder: A Territory can produce 2 Resources - a basic one on the board and a second one if you played a Farm on it.

====Scoring Cities====

Some Missions refer to the number of Cities you control. The Strength is not important: A Strength 1 or 2 City counts the same for this type of scoring.

====Scoring Fiefs====

Other Missions refer to the number of Fiefs you have, or the number of Territories that make up a Fief. You cannot choose to ignore Sky Towers or Camps for these Missions. Territories connected by Buildings still make a single Fief.

==== Special Parchments ====

===== PanPan the Barbarian =====
This card refers to all of a player’s Territories (Plains and Mountains) that produce no Resources and have no Cities, even if they are part of a Fief that includes Territories that do.

===== Liberal/Socialist =====
You copy the entire card: If you copy a Treasure, it also gives you Bonuses if you have the Treasure Guardian and/or the Treasure Hunter Mission.

===== Gloves =====
They give you 1 Golden Carrot if you only have one glove or 4 Golden Carrots each if you have both gloves (for a total of 8 Golden Carrots).

===== Little Prince =====
If there is a tie between the Fiefs that give you the most Golden Carrots, harvest all but one of them again.

== Glossary ==

=== Basic Resource ===
A type of Resource that is produced by certain Territories or Buildings: Fish, Wood, or Carrots.

=== Building ===
There can only be one Building per Territory. Strength 1 Cities that start on the board at the beginning of the game are Buildings.

=== Connected ===
Applies to two Territories controlled by the same player with a shared side (not separated by a Lava Flow) or two Territories linked by Sky Tower tokens.

=== Deck ===
Exploration cards that have not been not dealt to the players. Provisions cards let you take the top two cards from the deck and play them immediately.

=== Draft ===
To choose one or more cards from your hand then pass the remaining cards to another player, so they can do the same action.

=== Empty ===
A Territory with no Rabbits or Buildings.

=== Fief ===
A group of Territories connected to each other. A Fief can be made up of only a single Territory.

=== Hand ===
Cards that a player holds in order to draft them during the Exploration Phase.

=== Lava Flow ===
A feature on the New World board that separates two Mountain spaces. Rabbits placed on either side of a Lava Flow are not connected.

=== Luxury Resource ===
A type of unique Resource that is produced by Luxury Resource Farms.

=== Reserve ===
In a 2-player game, a stack of cards from which players add a card to their Hand before each draft.

=== Strength ===
Total number of Towers on all Cities in a Fief.

=== Wealth ===
Number of different Resources produced by a Fief.

=End of Game=
The game ends when the deck runs out.

Up to five cards are then drawn from the Secret Festival and added to the Festival, changing the Tulip ranking in the progress.

Then, for each Tulip color, players receive the points listed on the Festival cards for having the first, second or third majority of Tulips in their bouquet in that color. In case of a tie, the player with the higher total value of Tulip cards gets the points. In case of another tie, both players get the listed amount of points for that majority. A third player will then gets points for the following majority etc.

The player with the most points wins the game. If tied, the player with the most Tulips wins the game. When again tied, players share the victory!

==''QUICK OVERVIEW - IT'S EASY TO PLAY''==
:The various characters in the Kmakici family are on the cards in different combinations.
:Players draw and play cards to the table from a hand of three, trying to build sets of five :different characters. If a player places a card which completes a set of five, they draw a token :from the end of a line.
:However, there are only three types of "Usagi" out of the five, and all of them are one type. There are a lot of people who play games for free on BGA who get angry because they don't read all the rules, so I'll take the trouble to write them down.

:The tokens show a grilled steak initially, but on the hidden side are sweets, cakes and teatime treats.
:Players are trying to get four different treats to win the game outright.

:However, if a player cannot or will not play a card, they draw a steak, which, being unsuitable for a tea party, counts as negative points.
:If all the tokens are claimed without a direct winner, then the player with fewest steaks wins.

*"Let's start a great teatime with our friends."*

*Pass!
:When you pass, you receive the first chip from the treat path, with the steak on the front.
:Do not check the back of the chip at this time.

※When you pass or Complete, all the cards on the table are moved to the discard pile.
The last player to take their turn starts a new turn as the starting player.
*The first card
:The starting player who takes their first turn after a Complete or Pass cannot pass.
== '''Important Game play notes''' ==

===About Multiple Character Friend Cards===
If a card has two or more characters on it, the friends card cannot be played if any of the characters are already on the table. Note: Usagi has an exception, see rules below.

For example: A card with Kintaro and Sakana visible cannot be played if either Sakana or Kintaro is already on the table.

Click "remain characters" to get a list of characters who are still eligible to be played on the table.

===About the "Usagi" friend Card===

The "Usagi" friend card is special, as multiple colors of Usagi can be played on the table at the same time, as long as the usagi card is a different color. There are three colors of "Usagi" cards, Pink, Blue, and Yellow. (The table newsfeed shows UsagiA - Yellow, UsagiB - Pink, UsagiC - Blue)

However, no matter how many colors of Usagi are on the table, only one type of character is counted.

For example, 3 colors of Usagi and Kmakici/Kintarou count as three types of characters, not 5.

===About the "UFO" friend card===
You can remove a friend card by placing a UFO on top of the target friend card on the table. Both the UFO card and the target friend card are discarded.

Playing a UFO card in this way will count as playing a card.

After using the UFO to remove a friend card, you can subsequently play a friend card depicting that character who was discarded by the UFO on the same turn. NOTE: The "Abducted" friend is not available to be played.

A UFO card cannot be played onto an empty table. To play the UFO, select the UFO, then select the friend card, then confirm.

[[File:Kmakici 4 en.png|800px]]

=== '''The GAME END''' ===

*The game ends when someone has collected 4 kinds of sweets,
:or when all the chips in the sweets path have been taken.

*If someone collects 4 types of sweets, the player wins!

*When all the chips have been taken,
:the player with the least number of steaks in their hand wins!

When the number of steaks is the same, the player with the most treats wins.
If the number of steaks is the same, the player with the most snacks wins, and if it's still not decided,
the player with the least number of cards in their hand at the end wins!

If you still can't decide, congratulations to ......! Both of you win!

===About Multiple Character Friend Cards===

===About the "Usagi" friend Card===

===About the "UFO" friend card===

=== '''The GAME END''' ===

If you s till can't decide, congratulations to ......! Both of you win!
==''QUICK OVERVIEW - IT'S EASY TO PLAY''==
